The paint shop "sells" the entire job; I remember the early '80s GM "Waterborne Acrylic Enamel" experiment, "single stage paint that couldn't stick to the electrocoated sealer". One GMC/Chevy light blue metallic with 19 "CMP" (closest match possible/paint the whole side) variants... Ditzler couldn't even hit the color, and no Factory Pack RM/DuPont lacquer for trimming out. Suntron matched Toyotas and Datsuns every damn time.

Dear Arthur, I wish you were here in europe or have a store and could maybe also repair my car. I drive a 2006 Audi A4 B7 1.6 petrol engine. When I bought my car a year ago it was in a very desolate condition, the engine was partly broken and also the doors were corroded by rust. I searched in laborious work the new parts to use them for my car. I replaced 3 of 4 doors in total and preserved them with rope grease, they are now all 100% rust-free. Also the front fenders were replaced. The car got a complete interior cleaning. It looks new from the outside and inside. This was a project which I started with my father and friends, without these people I would never have come so far. During a routine inspection I found rust on the rear wheel arches, no painter and no garage wants to repair it. I am deeply sad that it would fail because of this. I bet for you this is no problem at all. Your video with the VW bus showed perfectly: Everything is possible if you want. There is no "i can t fix it" thinking :) I wish you could fix mine, it just makes me so much sadder. All the best and take care
