He said upgrade leather like when you had to get a Vanden Plas to get the upgraded leather and wood. Love my VDP, it has upgraded wood and leather.

I sold my 350 and bought a 351 last year didn't really like the rear lights but now I think that's what makes it stand out from the likes of Audi bm and merc Absolutely love it Merc is too bland Audi isn't really premium enough and BM is too common

I'm guessing they ment 740 not 750, either way jag is very impressive, I sold my xf supercharged and got a 2012 xj l supersport!! And omg what a car, very fun and fast!! Beats my 2013 750i Bmw, so I sold it :)

Oh my God so much bullshit about then board computer. iDrive has the best, fastest and highest resolution computer in basically any car, while jags looks like something from a budget renault or peugeot, unresponsive, small and annoying. What do you expect from a completely bias jaguar seller.

XJ is a brilliant car, very desirable, dynamic and has style. However and it pains me to say this as a brit as a machine they are flawed at high milage they need lots of attention to keep running. The old AJ16 was a bullet proof engine (in 4.0 and 3.2, will do 300,000 on original engine) mechanically had a tough ZF box (but they did rust in the UK), Ford helped redesign the engine which was brilliant when new in 1997, but the design of the timing gear was flawed and had to be redesigned subsequent xj's had a lot of Ford input and it shows esp cheap spec of the German ZF 5 speed box. I know little about newer incarnations of xj's but hope they are able to keep customers loyal in the states who cover big mileages and expect a car to cover 200,000 without major component failure. Jaguar under the Indians need to prove long term durability against BMW/Mercedes and not build vehicles that are expected to be disposed of after 5 years and 100,000 miles to keep the accountants happy!

because they're warrantly goes til 5 years/100k. so the owners turn them in, and get a new one. They are hiding behind this to sell newer cars. Unfortunately i don't think any used car in this class would be repair free.

The 7 series is junk. Lacks serious craftmanship and a professional touch that should be put into a flagship German car. S Class all the way. I know the Jag doesn't necessarily compete with the S Class, but still.

when you are fking saying things about the "only available on the 740i as part of the package", how about talking about how much the packages cost and what they include. BMW has those options so that people do not have to purchase what they do not want, instead of stuffing a whole bunch of options that some don't even like.

This is not just an advertisement, in every review the jag wins in most fields, plus all the Bmw fan boys don't even have a Bmw and never owned either, so stay in your lanes you window shopping bums, it comes down to preference, Mercedes holds more value then both jaguar and BMW, Land Rover is keeping jaguar above water and that's y they hold a decent retail value.

Brian Dusabe - when I wrote this review 3 years ago I had a different perspective, I’ve owned a few 750i bmws, latest was my 17 750i x drive m sport, and it’s one of my fav cars, I’ve had the Jaguar XJ-R 2016 witch was amazing, but Bmw overall is better the Jaguar.

Brian Dusabe - my 17 had 36k miles, I sold it at 44k miles, was perfect, fast as hell, I picked up a 17 x5m, and I’m super annoyed with this suv!!, my cousin has a 14 750i x drive m sport, he has almost 100k miles on it and has been great to him aswell, I heard the 09-12 have issues with the turbos, 13 up are revamped so are more reliable Forsure.

These modern XJs are butt ugly! I will drive my 2008 XJ8 and 1995 XJ12 until I am too old to drive. At least BMWs still look like BMWs and Mercedes still look like Mercedes. Jaguars look like Buicks now.

I used to think that as I have owned a series lll and a couple of x308's but I test drove a x351 last year and was totally sold on it I agree it's not as nice to look at as a series 3 but it's a damn fine car (Test drive one and I bet you change your mind)

Of course they are gonna give the Jaguar the best review because they are from Jaguar, there is a reason why BMW has always been around unlike Jaguar. Your comparing an inline 6 with a V8 and the Jaguar is lighter so to me it's not even a fair comparison. I'm a mechanic and I would never buy a Jaguar or how I call them Fords because that's all a Jaguar is a Ford. I'm not saying Jaguar is a bad car but Jaguar doesn't have the reputation or the history that BMW has. Bmw has been around for decades building cars and motorcycles and have always been part of the racing world unlike Jaguar so obviously they have been doing something right. This is the worst comparison I've ever seen in my life. Bmw is the ultimate driving machine !
