Another great video. I can't believe I didn't notice your boots were wrong. I watched your "FRONT SUSPENSION REBUILD" video many times. I should have noticed and let you know. I rebuilt (with your help) a front suspension on a friend's R75/5 and had to change out the 11 rib boots. The 13 rib boots look much better.

You are on time😎👍🏽👍🏽 Thanks for your constant support Simon! I‘m trying to push and make that happen, but I also want to make sure all components are assembled correctly. At the end of the day, this is still a 50yo motorcycle😁 Thanks for being one of the first to watch another video of mine! Regards Andreas

I'm impressed with how the bike looks. Each part looks like it's been refinished to perfection! I'm heading into Canada in a few days touring New Brunswick on my BMW - really looking forward to it. Looking forward to the engine rebuild.

Thanks for watching another video and leaving a great comment, John! All parts that have gone back onto this bike have been refinished and I tried my best to make them look like new again. You have a very fun trip planned and I wish you a fantastic time on the road. New Brunswick has incredibly scenic landscape and it‘s something to behold. I have never been myself, but I have only heard good things! The engine rebuild video is coming very soon and I cannot wait to share it with you. Regards Andreas

Are you a surgeon in real life? LoL. Looking at your shop and the organization and sequencing of tasks, layout of tools, - with white walls and spotless floor and worktables, I just see a nurse walking in any second to slap a 17mm spanner into your right hand and wipe the sweat off your forehead with you staring through your loupe. I had a '85 RS 80. Never forget that thing. Thousands of miles and one clutch. Then a very close shave for me and the scrapheap for the old RS. Took one surviving black suitcase panier with me for countless years. Don't know why, probably as a reminder of my mortality. Enjoyed this video while watching you fix an even older version.

This comment is just great, haha! I haven't given that a try yet, but if my work area is clean enough maybe I can start accepting patients😂 The Airheads from the 80's had some nice reliability improvements and service improvements, which made they literally bulletproof. The dry-clutch was know to be very strong and it had a great lifespan. I can imagine you went on great trips back in the day and those memories have stayed with you, because you held onto you pannier! It would be amazing to find out what happened with your bike after all these years...is it still on the road or does someone have it in the back of their garage? Thank you for tuning in and sharing your story. I hope to have this bike back on the road sooner than later, but I want to get everything right to make it roadworthy. At the end of the day, it's still a 50yo machine! In my upcoming videos I will assembling the final drive, the engine and then on the cosmetics. I hope you enjoy the rest of this video series. Regards Andreas

Maybe a little late but you missed out routing the front blinker cables through the lamp holders and the blinker post on top of the lower fork tree. This cannot be done when the forks are fully assembled. Don’t ask me how I know… but otherwise great work

hi Ulrich,,im in the middle of restoring my /5,,I was also curious about this, or is there a better way to route the blinker cables that people use?
@ulrich.hoffmann
@ulrich.hoffmann 6 ай бұрын
@@trevorpeel3003 Hi Trevor, if you want them to be invisible route them from the lampshell into the holes on the inside of the lamp posts and through the blinker stems.
