2023 . You are a legend. I just did a reflow today on the unit and it fixed my totally non-responsive navigation. I broke the fiber socket but nothing that cannot be "solvered" with some silicone heat gun. The temperature I used was ~ 400 degrees Celsius as lower values would not make the flex to "popcorn". Special care must be taken for the components near the uC. I hope this hold for a couple of years but I will come back with this information (hopefully not) ! Thank you again !

Dude you saved my life :-). The CCC in my E92 (2006) has the same layout. Before I did a try in the oven with around 150 °C without success, more than 20 °C outside forced the CCC into reboot loop again. Then I just followed your video. I used nearly the same SMD station and infrared thermometer but a different flux, all cheap stuff from Amazon. Hello, great video thank you very much, what is the air flow that you used, minimum, half or maximum, once the chips reach around 170 degrees it's good can you stop heating the chips? I do exactly as you do in the video but when I remove the heat gun and I measure with the wireless thermometer it shows me approximately 110 degrees, is it obligatory that this value be at 170 degrees for all the electronic chips? I position the hot air gun about 1 cm above the electronic chip, there is no risk of damaging the electronic chip ?
@PSICompanyPerformance9 ай бұрын
thanks for watching yes there is risk of damage, thats why you should not maintain the gun in one place, you should hoover it around to heat everything evenly, if you use flux you will know when the chip is refluxed because you can see that the flux is boiling and the solder under the chip will be too, the trick is to put heat evely across the all chip. good luck

@@bricoautos641 dont worry because there is a lot of heat loss across the all board and also the thermometer might not be 100% accurate so dont worry, the worst thing that can happen if you underheat is that you might have to repeat the proccess but the worst thing that can happen if you overheat is a lot worst...

The screen tries to restart itself every certain time. The screen turns on in white, the sos button lights up with a small green light and the DVD drive turns on momentarily, judging by the sound. The Sos button works (I had to test), the parking sensors make a sound, even though the screen is not on, the media control knob spins freely, the bluetooth is connected to my phone, but nothing comes out of the speakers during the call.
