If you have BMW and you have code P0171 System Too Lean Bank 1 or code P0174 System Too Lean Bank 2 this is the right video. In this video we will demonstrate what could cause code P0171 P0174 on BMW with the m54 engine. Most of the times code P0171 and P0174 is caused by a vacuum leak. Hi! 1st - great videos! I have E60 with N52, but still see those errors sometimes. Could it bee a vacuum/air leak? I'm asking, because N52 has valvtronic and don't have vacuum in the manifold. Also the problem is very rare.

On my 2004 530i. All the hoses and rubber boots look great no cracks or tearing of any kind. New valve cover gasket and even did a smoke test. No leaks anywhere, but still keep getting the P0171-P0174 code... would a bad massage flow sensor cause it?

OmG!!! Just bought a used 2007 BMWx5 3.0 si two days ago! Beautiful inside 143,000 miles no oil leaking etc. Also has no oil Dip stick. Well day one drove 30 mins, Car started pouring smoke from the air vents. smoking from the engine I was assuming!! Looked like it was on fire with 3 kids in the car!! turned air off ,got out let sit a while. No codes nothing. Drove back home still no check engine light nothing. Day two, did not use air! drove 45. mins one way them drove 45 mins. Back now check engine light on! Said in white then yellow now red!! system too lean bank one & two P0171& P0174 A bit stressed as day two and this!! This is the nicest car I've had and me and the kiddos are just so upset. As our truck has no air no heat and very hard on Gas!! What do I do?? Going to look at everything you just said!! Say a prayer!!! I cant get another!! it has to work!! Thank you

Hello I have engine oil leak and oil consumption issue I leaks from the intake manifold from the first two pipes leaking, on my BMW 530 ix n52 engine and the car diagnostics showed these two CODE P0171 P0174 and i have check engine light on , I already have changed walve cover gasket , engine oil pan gasket, oil cooler both gaskets, and I still have leaking, and oil consumption can you please help me out, what is the next place I should check where there is a possibility the problem can be? Saw u commented about smoke test, Did u do it and did it reveal the problem? I have a 06 325ci and I just got this code this morning. I haven’t taken a deep look to see what’s the issue yet but if u had the same issue and did the smoke test to see where the problem is it’ll save me from a headache. Hope u see this thanks

@@nousername7582 yes if U have a BMW. U need 2 have a smoke test. Its around 100 to 150 $$. But it's worth it bcuz it's going to tell u exactly the PROBLEM. Its saves u tunns of money in the long run

Hey all, I have an issue with a bmw z3 M54 2.2i. It keeps coming up with bank lean codes and misfires. Both banks and single banks, random misfires, but diagnostic says cylinder 5 is troublesome. No obvious vac leaks anywhere... fault has been getting more frequent, although the car hasn’t run much in the last six months... any thoughts??? Thanks.
