Fantastic video, replaced the gaskets today. Note: I found that removing the inner oval cover first, then the outer oval ring cover prevented scratching paint. To sum it up the video tutorial is spot on and was very helpful

One of the best videos on this. Clearly presented, including all details. You can also heat and bend the end of an old screw driver, or even use some clothes hanger rod.

I replaced these on my E34 earlier today. I replaced the handle surrounds also, since mine were pretty rough. The surrounds on mine and the replacements were metal, not plastic. Anyway, I was having a hard time until I made sure that the rubber seal was laying flat and not pinched between the door and the trim. Thanks for the video!

If you dont have that hook tool, you can use an allen key clamped in a vice grip.

My lock just popped and seen this video pop up and was like I need to that to my Z3 M roadster and now I’m like we I think I need to get them while I’m in there. Have to wait on a day off to work on it. My key buttons are worn out from years of use and pocketing. But the manual side of it work until last night

My rear door plastic handle-surrounds look grey and not as black as the front ones do. Those are original. I bought the rears in 2014. I don't know if BMW is making them cheaper or what. Or if I should buy a used set, pre-2005 or so. Your replacements look nice.

If anyone is wondering, you need to push the clip with a screwdriver straight towards the front, not side way. Then slowly pry out the door trim once the clip is pushed all the way. The video looks like he was pushing sideways to pop out the trim. I damaged two door trims before I figured it out.

And installing what is the process do i have to pull the or push the mechanism again?
@cya36513 жыл бұрын
@@kwatoggurutv109 installation is the reverse. 1. You need a long piece of metal and bend one end into an “L” shape. 2. Place the L shape tool behind the same area where you had pushed it(as shown in video) 3. Once hooked, now PULL straight backward to slide the mechanism back. This will lock the door handle trim in place again.
