Hello, Nice video and nice car man, mine is a 1989 320i Sedan with m20b20 engine, My only problem is the differential, its really noisy, I tried changing the bearings in it, but its worse now, I need to replace the whole diff but here in Romania all I can find is 4.10 and 3.45 open diffs from E36 compacts, Im worried that 4.10 would be too short, can you give me a tip please?

Hey man, mine is a 4:10 and I think it’s a good gear ratio especially for spirited driving. The noisy diff though I’m not sure about. I would say the bearings are the problem but if you changed them then I’m not sure.

@@ShakeNBlake509 the 2.0 liter version m20 produces like 120-130hp, its not as fast as the b25, yeah usually before I got the differential into a shop to change the bearings, it would only whine in the 5th gear, but after they changed the bearings now it whines in every gear and also when i press the clutch, it howls like crazy.. they said its because of the gear wear inside the differential, gear and pinion ring or something like that

@@robi6713 that’s very interesting. Sounds like who built your diff is giving you the runaround. I’ve never heard of a diff supposed to be howling like that after a rebuild.
