OMG thank you! I have all of these issues right now and yes mine was lose as well. Also, can this issue cause an excessive use in oil? I would out a qt of oil in my car and in like 2-3 weeks my oil light comes on

white smoke means burning oil from oil bath (oil gets inside the blast chamber usually from a engine gasket i think), black smoke means too much fuel that the engine dont burn.

If it happens again all you have to do is replace it with silicone lasts longer and stronger and get it in blue it looks a lot nicer and the air intake pipe get the cold air feed pipe and get it in silver again it looks a lot nicer

Vac leaks can cause some serious driving issues. Thats an easy fix and low cost. Not sure that would cause white smoke though.

+common rail ive got the exact same problem. after replacing icv valve boots breather and rear of the engine. maf lol it turned out to me a very small oil leak on the valve/cam cover. i had a bad idle alot. since the gasket has been replaced its been fine. i also hadthe problem of when dipping the clutch revs would drop too low and sometimes stall and junctions etc. give it a try to gasket is only around £10-15 and a half hour-hour job.

Why is the blow by tube on the valve cover at the front of the cover?? I thought m42 and m44's both had the same one that was at the rear of the cover?? I have both a 96 and a 95 and they are the same? His version of the m42 must be an earlier one right?

Respectas, kad naują gofrą pirkai, o ne apklijavai izoliacija kaip kiti :D Pats ir vasara nusipirkau naują gofrą, nes mano buvo tiesiog suplėšyta į du gabalus ir suklijuota su izoliacija (buvusio savininko išmislas). Tad pasikeičiau gofrą ir dingo visokie trukčiojimai mašinos ant pirmo bei antro bėgio.

white smoke doesn't come from extra air. you have air leak that is one thing but if you see a white smoke then your gasket begin to give of slowly and that is the cause for white smoke. your air leak is not a fix for a white smoke and the title is misleading. I am a professional mechanic.
