BMW E36 AC Climate Control Module Replacement

This video details the quick and easy process on replacing a BMW E36 Climate Control Module.
Climate Control Modules have two clips on either end that holds the module in place, replacement is as easy as fitting a flathead screwdriver onto the clip and popping the module out.
AC modules can often be repaired through soldering joints inside the module. There are several excellent videos on KZbin detailing this process.

I had this issue but solved it without tools. :) If you reach into the slot below the trip computer, you will feel two holes on the top of the slot. Press up on those two holes and the computer will pop right out. Then reach into the computer hole and grab the back of the hvac control and pop it out. No tools, no damaging your dash. :) My actual problem was the blue connector wasn't tight. It is a bit of a loose fit. I folded a piece of cardboard (not corrugated) and wedged it between the connector and the controller. Boom, my hvac control was back and working like new. pop everything back in and you're done. Easy-peasy!

Did you try replacing the capacitor inside? It's cheaper than buying a whole different unit and really easy.

Need help. 98 M3 climate control works when heat/air is set to defrost and/or center vents. When i set the climate control to feet/floor vent it is not opening the vent to floor so no air/heat is coming thru. Could this be a bad wire connection at the climate control unit or is there some type or rod that opens/closes the vents to control air? if so, how can i access it? Thanks in advance
