BMW E36 key spinning but not turning engine on

If anyone is wondering how he unlocked the steering wheel, he drilled out the spring that holds the locking mechanism in the locked position (there's a hole on the underside of he housing near the ignition switch).

My problem is that the pin that comes out into the ignition doesn’t turn when I turn the key. Even tho it will pop out and go into the ignition slot, it doesn’t turn 😢😅

@ yeah man, I had to order a new pin for about £11 on eBay. Kept the same key etc

I don’t see that ignition part in my car like that and my car thinks it’s in the audition. The entire time is stuck in the key comes in and out.

Take the ingition switch out and start the car like that, ive just bought a new barrel hopefully its the right bit as i think the cam is gone that turns the switch

Mine flips to the off position if you dont hold on to the key which is definitely a problem when driving

at the start of the video i notice that you try to start the car , but you dont have position 1 ,2 and 3 on the ignition, key just spinning of course it cant start, good solve for the problem

It took me 10 minutes to fix it after watching the video. Just take it apart and see if you can fix it the same way.
