I have the same car with same engine, but rally made, cage and all body in carbon. 1200kg, 350hp. Short diff, max speed 230-250 depenging on tire size. Pulls like crazy

Any special things needed for dme or electrical? Is your transmission 6 speed?

I ran a 5speed ZF as it’s approx 22kg lighter than 6speed box and Dme wise, wired it up and ews delete, job done. Hope this helps 👍

Decent map and decent setup on S54 easy 360-370hp, this one never saw a dyno for an exact figure unfortunately, but it drove so much better than with S50

What method did you use for the wiring- what did you do to convert the throttle to fly by wire and also how did you reprogramme your ecu for ews etc?

You can buy plug and play looms or make them mate 👍 wiring is pretty simple yes 👌 plenty of info online about it all.

Brilliant work there and well done for the swap. Although I just wanted to ask. How come you broke what seemed to be a working e46 m3?

Thank you, yes it was a fully working and functioning e46 m3, reason to break was to fund the e36 m3 s54, buying an s54 on a pallet is £5-6k plus bits, bought the whole m3 for £8k and then sold various bits, this way my s54 only cost me around £2.5k 👍 It was only a vert m3, not like I broke a CSL or anything special!

@@wds_originals Ah that's fair and understandable . Many purist will frown upon that Haha. But you did what you want for you're build 🤞🏽. However prices on e46 m3 have gone too silly prices! Lucky you got a m3 for that cheap. Regardless top workmanship

@@mabskha7917 prices are over inflated I’m in the process of buying another one for another e36 s54 build currently which is also £8k, everyone thinks there e46 m3’s with 15 owners and part history are £20k cars but no one will pay that! Hence why they are all for sale for months or actually sell for a fraction of the asking price! 👌

@@wds_originals completely agree with you and it's crazy how the prices of these cars have been inflated. Then again look at the JDM market! There prices have gone stupid aswell. Were in a era where people think there 20+ yrs old cars are worth £20k+. Its pure insanity!

@@mabskha7917 yeh 100% Some 90’e cars are but 2000’s cars that are the most mass produced m cars (e46 m3’s) with 15 owners and doggy cars are not worth that money!

Did the stock exhaust manifolds fit without modifications?

Stock manifolds clear the chassis but to mate it to the e36 m3 exhaust there is some fabrication required 👍

@@dante4nero full stainless exhaust if I were you, wouldn’t use any e36 exhaust will be too small in diameter and not flowing enough for the S54 👍

Yes, a small bit of fabrication was required to make it fit 👍

This project took approximately 2months of part time faffing about as a lot of delay was waiting on parts. Actual man hours was probably a weeks worth of that!

Sold already unfortunately, I have other E36’s and I couldn’t justify both, I plan to most like S54 my other Techno Violet E36 very soon 👍 either that or I’ll do another Big Turbo Build for it!

If I gave you an E36 coupe how much it cost me to convert it into what you see here? So E36 coupe shell stripped down, S54 engine and gearbox, rear roll cage, upgraded brakes and maybe coil overs. How much are we looking at total end price; parts and labour included? I would supply the donor car....

Finding a decent one now days is hard hence why good ones fetch good money, ours sold very quickly, and the new owner is over the moon with it, which is always nice knowing our projects are in good hands 👌
