What I love about the S54, is that with little load on the engine it's pretty quiet. Like, you can have your wife or even her parents in the car and it's OK. But when you floor it, it sounds like it belongs in something far more exotic than an entry level BMW.
@joshthebavarian3 жыл бұрын
Yes completely agree! When I am just cruising , maintaining throttle position , or putting around town, the car is completely quiet, and with windows up nearly silent. BUT, when you put your foot down… !

Sounds incredible! It’s hard to describe that induction sound or portray it on video you just have to experience it.

Yes completely agree! Its very hard to capture, its such a visceral sound in person. I did however get a "real" mic for the induction sound, and plan to test it out here soon on a different canyon run. Hoping that one sounds better. Cheers!

Love how you tag this as ASMR. Not wrong though! I knew a guy with an e30 M3 who used a carbon intake - similar "grunt" in the induction sound, but not as epic as the 6 cylinder.

Haha right?! Glad you agree.. and yes! I know exactly what you mean, the S14 plugged to a carbon airbox sounds very similar but also very distinctly different. Cheers!

hmm your video makes it seem like headers and exhaust are not required ..at least for sound asthetics lol. How much was your 6spd conversion all in? Great video. Ty
@joshthebavarian2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, I am completely happy w/ the stock headers + exhaust. It really lets the CSL airbox sing uninterrupted, and it keeps me under the radar when im just cruising! Also, it cost me all in all about 2100$ for the 6 speed swap .Granted I did most of the labor myself

Where’d you get that rear view mirror? Looking to get one for my M3 as well.

Its a "Broadway" mirror, it clips right on and gives some excellent visibility. My OEM oval mirror is broken and the fluid is leaking internally, like most of them. lol

e46 m3s should make 280whp stock🤨
@joshthebavarian3 жыл бұрын
On a Dyno Jet perhaps, of which I actually put down about 315whp on. But the Mustang Dyno we used in the video consistently reads 100% stock US E46 M3's at about 260whp, which is in line with other Mustang "Heart breaker" Dyno sheets online of other stock cars. Cheers!
@carbonemtree3 жыл бұрын
bro 280 whp with a CSL box is not "healthy" lol. They make that stock & a CSL makes 365 CHP which should be over 310whp
@joshthebavarian3 жыл бұрын
Im assuming the numbers your referencing are Dynojet numbers so idk if the comparison is accurate. I made 283whp on a Mustang Dyno that consistently reads 100% stock E46 M3's at 255-260whp. Not uncommon for Mustang numbers from what ive seen on NAm3 forums. I also made 315whp on a Dyno Jet that typically rates about 280-290 for a 100% stock car. Thats a decent delta on a car with stock headers, Cats and exhaust, running a base CSL map with no additinoal tuning, or CSL cams. What do you think?

@@JavierVermaas No IG , I never saw a website. If you can get one on sale at Turner Motorsport, they can be had for less then 1400 (before tax + shipping).
@JavierVermaas3 жыл бұрын
@@joshthebavarian ok thanks. I saw the one on Turner Motorsports but that’s just the box. You need the whole kit in my opinion with dip stick relocation, filter etc. That comes down to $2000 I saw. I think I’ll get Karbonius or Geoff steel.
@joshthebavarian3 жыл бұрын
@@JavierVermaas Yes you will need multiple supporting items. CSL dip stick + tube, MAP sensor conversion (or MAF Delete), + software. It will be close to $2000 worth of parts when it is all done.
