Installed over 20000km ago, no difference, need to add same amount of oil, good thing is that without original ccv oil for sure isn't going back to intake as it was before. Strongly recommend. 330CI E 46

All those plastic crack becomes after a high temp under the hood. The working temp of your m54 is about 105 Celsius. Make a cold thermostat to cool down your engine to about 90 Celsius and change your engine fan to electro - it's also helps to take more extra HP from your engine and extend water pump life.
@mike.135i5 жыл бұрын
how do u “make a cold thermostat"
@Scarlif3x5 жыл бұрын
Cold thermostat ? Lol theirs no upgraded thermostat for the m54 mishimoto makes ones but it's shit it doesn't fit to a oem housing. A electric fan is better but doesn't keep your engine cooler unless you put a controller on it. ( Which u shouldn't need to if you' aren't making way more power and tracking it) The thing you can upgrade to your water pump to a Stewart or a 3 row radiator

Where in your video do you show the vacuum connection to the fuel rail area? Are there two vacuum ports? Do you have to block one? What do you think about using the vacuum port at rear of engine instead (It is currently simply capped)? Seems this would be much simpler especially if it is providing same vacuum. Don't have to use the fancy plastic connectors.

Yes there is one vacuum port with a cap on it and another with a line attach going to the SAP system. I just need re-did the like that already had a vacuum line it going to the SAP since this line gets cracked.

I’m gonna have to disagree with this whole catch-can install. I was almost all in with it and ready to tear out the OEM CCV system. But I started doing some research. What I learned was that the C/C (catch-can) system isn’t nearly as effective of doing what the stock CCV system is capable of. And for most of us who drive our cars as daily drivers it’s impractical. The C/C doesn’t effectively remove water vapor and ends up just recycling it back into the system. Another issue is there’s no science in your installation. BMW designed the engine to run at specific internal pressures and when you guys start reducing 7/8” lines and restricting then down to 3/8” that’s changing pressures dramatically. So basically what I’m saying is C/C have a place if done correctly with some proper engineering for racing where you are renewing the oil often. But for us who may run an autocross or track day occasionally the OEM system can’t be beat. I know it looks cool and all but…. I’ve omitted a lot so it doesn’t sound like a dissertation but you get the idea. And the catch-can system doesn’t look any easier to install as a new CCV system. Evan I have watched a lot of your videos and have got a lot out of them. You know a lot about these cars but I don’t agree with you on this.
