BMW E60 530i Muffler Delete

my 2005 530i w/Muffler Delete .. just finished washing it thats why u see water come out the tips..

nope no error messages.. it probably increased a bit of air flow but maybe got like 1-2 more hp.. its mostly sound..

How does it sound on the hwy? Neighborhood? I want to do this to mine to get that same low growl but I'm afraid of making it loud and obnoxious. If that happens, it kind of takes away from the "luxurious" side of a BMW.

I am SO, SO, SO tempted to get shot of my E60 and get an E39 530i instead. I really struggle with the interior of the E60; it's like a big Ford Fiesta and that iDrive is enough to drive you insane.

There has to be drop in performance as you loose back pressure. I did muffler delete on my M5 and I can feel just a very minimal but noticeable difference.

Has that destroyed the ride quality? I'm currently on 16"s on winter tyres but want a set of 18"s for summers as I think anything bigger may ruin the ride

@@killed_phill796 9 years later... I DID get a set of 18s for my E60 (which i still have - owned for 11 years now). Have the 16s for winters and the 18s for summer. I bought the 18s for £500 back in about 2014. It had run-flats but i ditched them and went with Conti SportContact 5s.

nothing special just went to local muffler shop and picked out some tips and a regular tube.. chop weld and done :D

Why does there have to be a drop in performance? Back pressure usually hinders performance as the engine works between two pressures. The easier the burnt combustion air/fuel can leave the cylinder, the less work the other 5 cylinders have to do in expelling that gas, therefore, the more effort gets to the crank.

Just wanted to say your exhaust sounds great. I was looking to do something similar but I couldn't find the right dual tip to fit the exhaust. Where did you get yours?

i got my tips from the muffler shop that did the muffler delete.. usually the big muffler shops will have them and they are around 100$

it sounds good nothing crazy or too loud .. i liked it a lot and wish my e92 sounded the same ... but if u dont like it u can always go back to stock .. but im sure u will like it and wont take away the luxury away .. it will just make it a bit more aggressive and sporty also :D

real real nice. please help though can you lmk exactly what you did. did you take of the resonater as well or just the muffler? and do the tips have any effect on the noise. please help really wanna make mine sound like yours.

Alfredo Sandoval just removed the muffler and added a pipe in place of it with some tips to give it a nice look and no the tips do not do any effect on the sound

muffler delete.. just go to a muffler shop pick out an exhaust tip and tell them to just remove the muffler and they will just put a pipe inplace of where the muffler used to go.. "muffler delete"

@Monstromikes they cut right behind the muffler and used matching pipe and just finished it off with some tips.. But yeah u will like it!
