Thats good info seems like all cars on the flex joint wires have a problem had to repair a couple of Ford Taurus on door locks broken wires.

Thank you, I just finished cleaning up my antennas circuitboard with som brakecleaning and a small brush. Remote locking works like a charm now.

So expose the board and clean it up and check for corrosion/wear/tear and see what kind of result you get? My remote is shit house and it’s giving me grief. My rear window on the hatch doesn’t open anymore etc either. I suspect the whole back door and mechanism are worn and need a good clear out.

Hi Dr. Dean, just to tell you, you are the best, i done complete divetsity antenna, both sides, no fob, no rear heating etc. I have e61 525d 2006 and wonder is there an amplifier for sound, tried to fix front left speaker, removed ccc and checked e3 & e4 continuity and its ok but when i was puting back a ccc drive i found that all 16 pins are protected by blue plastic cover???? Which i removed it, still nothing, probably the drive is faulty... Sorry for asking so many questions by i respect your opinion: Going to remove dpf permanently....do i need piece of pipe as the dpf chamber is quite wide... Also ordered egr delete kit.... And finaly as i am going to change glow plugs, all 6 are gone using inpa... So decided to remove swirl flaps, i hope it will make a big change in every aspect, hp, less petrol usage etc. Forgot to mention, in boot there is only bt module, pdc module and 2 silver modules and 3 relays, but nothing to do with sound. I appreciate if you could help me when you got time, respect George

Hi there, I just bought a used E61 (build 2007) car. Unfortunately the electronic key doesn't open/close the central locking system. What would you recommend to start fixing the issue? Where to start searching the problem? Can we test the key only if it works or not. Maybe the accu is dead (electronic key is a newer version than yours in the video, but no possbility to change the battery). Maybe something more serious at car is broken... Would appreciate your answer. Best regards.

So I have this issue with my 2006 e61 but there is no 4 torx to loosen... Instead there are plastic covers and under them are some metal with what looks like something clipped on from the other side. Where do I loosen the spoiler in this case?

Hi Dean, just found your channel while looking for some info, wow thanks for all the videos. I've got a 2009 e61 and I think the diversity attena is gone (no CL or radio), but can it be repaired? Doesn't look corroded. Does a replacement have to be coded to the car, does it have to be an e61 antenna? Thanks.

Hello that’s the same problem I have but I haven’t tried to go close up to the rear or checked the diversity antenna would you recommend checking all this first before get auto pick how to sort key out

Yes mate this is common common problem and main problem for central locking not working check this

Curious. What is the red connector on the diversity module and strip going into the back glass? On my car, the strip is severed.

sos malfunction is nothing to do with your sat nav mate its to do with your tele communication unit in the car the mulf module in the boot under the carpet that's what triggers the sos light

Yes you can do that you can by the optical loops on eBay or better still just code it out

I just had this problem the day after I used my hatch as a rain shelter. You need to get to it before the water destroys the circuit board traces. 1. Clean circuit board well with electrical contact cleaner 2. Reflow solder joints to all the electrical connectors, especially the signal input (left side) and power input (right side). Even if they already look good you'll get better reception. 3. Clean the bottom of the mounting nuts and the metal ring seat on the board that they touch. The controller needs that connection to the frame. 4. Seal the diversity antenna controller with silicon. If you ever have to open it again then it's not your day. 5. Install the controller and coat all the connectors with Vaseline. Don't push it in or it will find its way to the contacts. 6. Coat the upper rim of the outer plastic box with Silicon. Then coat bottom rim of plastic box with Vaseline. It will still seal but it can be opened later. 7. Close the outer box and coat the outer rim with silicon, especially around where the upper antenna exits. I should be thin enough that you can easily break the seal if you need to.
