As I am sitting here watching you take apart that headlight I am just blown away by how hard it is to do that without breaking it
@rebuildrevival2 ай бұрын
Ya it is definitely a tedious process, it got easier with the second one as I learned a few tricks.

I did a similar procedure on my M5s headlights. I need to bake them again press them together more. I’m getting moisture in them.

There are options to order lenses with eyebrow LED strips, $40. Would you recommend just those of fight with original ones?
@rebuildrevivalАй бұрын
The eyebrows aren’t that hard to swap but at the same time $40 per pair for the eyebrows already installed isn’t bad either. The only reason to swap lenses in my opinion is if you are fixing or modifying something inside the light, if not just refinish them. It’s quicker, easier and cheaper!

i need only to change the headlights glasses, how long does it take ? when you just changed only the glasses great video 👍🏼
@rebuildrevival6 ай бұрын
Hey thanks! This was my first time doing this so it took me some time to learn, If I did another set now it would probably take me 3-4 hours if it was just a straight swap not including removal or installation time. One of the things that takes some time is removing the old sealant. Hope this video helps with your project!

@@rebuildrevivalokay thank you,yes the video explanation was great 👍🏼 i’m little bit afraid from the LCI headlights 😅they are more difficult than the not facelift headlights, i’m gonna try it ….

I took four days on my 370z lights - as anytime you’re painting = time to let paint cure in the sun for a solid day!! My girl has the E60 - so this will be the next challenge

How much do charge to do them for me?
@rebuildrevivalАй бұрын
Honestly, I don't know that's its worth the time unless you are going to do any modifications or upgrades while your'e in there. I would have rather found a faded used set and refinished them then sold these for parts.
@toddrobinson9502Ай бұрын
@ so when doing upgrades, do you lose the adaptive part of the headlight?
@rebuildrevivalАй бұрын
@@toddrobinson9502 depends on what you do, it’s possible to upgrade or modify some parts without loosing the adaptive functions, for example the halos, or just color changing some interior plastic pieces.

I see this is a 50 minute video, but I'd like to know how many days worth of work this actually was. It seems like a lot of work. I am thinking about doing something similar but IDK that I can have the car inoperable for so long.
@rebuildrevival28 күн бұрын
It will depend on what you’re going to do while you’re in there. Just to pull the headlights and replace the lenses, is easily doable in a day or two without any hiccups. Just make sure you have all the right tools and materials.
@bobbyboygaming215728 күн бұрын
@@rebuildrevival I think I am just missing the plastic rivet tool and the permaseal but I was hoping to just use like a gasket-making silicone. The permaseal seems really hard to work with. Oh and I also need a bunch of clamps... Yeah, I just want to replace the clear plastics basically. And probably do some cable management so I can cram in some 'CANbus decoders' for LED replacements of halogens. I guess I could just throw it all in there, but might as well do it well if im gonna go through the trouble of removing the bumper. If I actually do it... I did order the lenses now I just need the self motivation. lol. I was just gonna buy new assemblies but they are too expensive.

@ I have rebuilt my headlights for the e60 PreLCI and I also changed the project to us for the EVOZ-R 2.0. And the outcome of the light is crazy. The problem with the OEM projectors is, that the parabolic mirror inside of the projector will burn out and the light outcome is pretty bad.

Dis this on e92 headlight, for sure it is easier on e92 than e60, i watched this detailed because i am going to take it apart until last srew, paint all chrome in matte black, and get new covers, new wiring inside i will put and make them like new. I charged customer for doing on e92 headlights 400€, 200 per headlight plus material. It was 2 day job 1 day one second day second and 5 day drying beacuse I used instaed of sealant windshield silicone, and it holds it up really tight.

If they’re just yellowed and not broken, just refinish them the old lenses, Wayyyyy quicker and easier!

This is NOT worth the effort.... $70 + a week worth of work and an oven in your garage or $500 for some amazon headlights. Time = $.
@rebuildrevival24 күн бұрын
I totally agree, it was my first time trying this and if I were to need to do something like this again, I would actually just buy a good used OEM set that needed to be refinished and go that route. I would only open them if I wanted to do any upgrades or alterations.
