After watching soooooo many videos I finally figure out what I was missing, thank you.. ps I originally put a 14in socket in there replacing the plastic extension it helped me in the meantime. I overlooked this way too much.

Can use other G48 coolant such as Comma, same thing. Funny how we have to upgrade oem BMW parts we don't trust, yet assume their coolant is the best lol

if you are replacing the flange just bang the plastic flange until it breaks, and the clamp will just slide off.

I changed my oil filter houseing gasket and removed that to get that torx bolt and the plastic broke. It ran all the way down my block

Found this video as my hose by the base burst while my wife was driving the car 2 miles from home. Could have been worst. It’s by the right side under OFH ( that hose at time 3:25 on top of your index finger). Got to check it tomorrow if there’s a flange there, but the base did look like it was already deteriorated. Do you know if it’s the same or another part number?

Thanks for this video. I'm at 146,500 miles. Haven't had this fail yet. But, I might be looking now at the driver's side heater hose (corrosion below the upper coolant hose that goes to the oil filter housing gasket). Have you had to mess with that yet?

A very late response to you. But I had the hose you are talking about fail at 148,000. This part in the video failed at 152,000

I would buy a full gallon just to be safe. You mix the bmw 50/50 and you’ll have 2 gallons. That is more than enough. You can find the bmw coolant online or at your local bmw dealer

Octavio_P Yeah some leaked out. You don’t have to drain the whole system. Just top it off when you’re finished.

If you have smoke coming from the back left of your engine bay it is most likely your valve cover gasket leaking and the oil dripping on your turbo exhaust manifold creating the smoke.

T k It really doesn’t matter but it’s probably easier with the cap off since you can keep an eye on the level of the coolant and add more if needed.

I just was able to slide mine off easily. If you can't either try to pry it off or cut it off without damaging the rubber hose.

You don't have to but it definitely makes it easier to access the flange and gives you more room to work with.

heatchamps2011 use a saw or a Dremel to cut the clamp but make sure you don’t cut the hose. Before you do that try to unbolt it and try pulling it off.

Patryk Iwan mine broke from the inside . So the plastic bracket is still on the hose. If i can slide the bracket out the brace comes Out right ? I did my oil filter today and i had to take this off smh lol

Hey just an inform you a 50/50 blend does not make 2 gallons that's only if you got a gallon that is 100% coolant 50/50 blend means half water half coolant if you did it that way that means you're blind is going to be 75% water 25% coolant
