Good job.My problem is the vacuum pump make noise when engine is warm.I have brake pressure.It's a good idea to replace it?

hey i just have one question when putting the vacuum pump back in do you need to make sure to not mess up the timing? or as long as the vacuum pump is timed with the HPFP like in the groove it all good?

I had a shop do mine. I know you need special tools to get in and positioned right. Then the hpfp should line up. I don't remember much else.

Hey guys, thanks so much for posting it's been really helpful. I'm at the part where I have the special tool to hold the sprocket... however, I cannot get the holes aligned with the screws of the vacuum pump. The BMW manual says something about rotating the crankshaft? Is this true or do you guys have another method?

I believe mines is leaking oil. Is that possible? Ofhg and OCG + valve cover has all been changed. But brakes remains strong.

Yes, goes through the timing cover. Here are two parts numbers for both of the gaskets that can leak from the vacuum pump. 1.) 11117530262 2.) 11667525815 let us know what you find!

When the vacuum pump fails completely, does it stop the high pressure fuel pump from working? Will the timing chain or guides be damaged attempting to drive it?
@BHP. Жыл бұрын
if someone answers your question that would be awesome because i want the answer tooo ;}

Is the big bolt on the vacuum pump reverse thread?
@motorgarage76044 жыл бұрын
it is not reverse, release as normal with tool attached. Replace with new bolt; oiled (recommended) and torque to 66nm

n54boostn... Did you ever complete this job? Any idea on the question I posted about about getting the sprocket aligned?
@zacknottke2705 жыл бұрын
how did you know it was going bad?
@motorgarage76045 жыл бұрын
Zack Nottke Our symptom was losing vacuum pressure causing our brakes to feel hard, almost like a bad brake booster. The vacuum was not supplying enough vacuum!

Wtf is this it shows almost nothing of actually doing the work!?
