Nice review, thanks Suzy. I think the F700GS/800GS would better suit a lot more people that have the larger R1200GSs, especially for serious off-road adventures.

Suzy, excellent presentation of these bikes. I got the feeling from watching this that the folks at BMW didn't take you very seriously. You're obviously a capable rider and the female rider market is one of the fastest growing in riding today. I think it would be smart for companies to start paying more attention to the female riders. Keep it up, I welcome seeing different points of view on riding and you're doing a great job.

I rode the f700gs last year and almost bought one. Lots of fun at reasonable speeds and very confidence inspiring but just not exciting enough motor for me for a playbike. Picked up an fj-09 just because of the motor. I think the f800gt is a gorgeous bike but same problem with buzzy underpowered motor.

Overpriced bikes and bad attitude Dealerships turned me away from buying a BMW. In my opinion i prefer Japan made bikes better reliability, performance and service.

vassilios Totally different here in. Merida, Mx - awesome guys, super welcoming and the reason I am getting into motos again after 30 years. I guess it just depends where you go - but the 700 is gorgeous (I just buying one) wherever you get it from.

Glad you like it , it's a beautiful bike , i went with a v-strom 650 not quite the looker but has been extremely reliable.

Agreed! I went into a BMW dealership to inquire about the F700GS and the sales person was stuck up like I couldn't afford the bike. So I went to the Harley Dealership and purchased my second bike. They need to realize they don't own the market so be more polite to their customers.

The f800gs was still a fair bit cheaper. I bought one in 2014 before the Africa twin came out in 2015. I'm still not sure what I would have chosen given the option.

+Tang chueng khai No.Anyone's bike.Men equate cc's with scrotum capacity and (coughcough) length.This is wrong,ability to use more of what is available more of the time is in the long run much more satisfying than underusing a larger potential because of overestimation of ability.
