Hey! Your content is on point, less chat-chat about the spec sheet which everyone can read and more focus on practicality and feel! I do have 2020 bsvi Himalayan, 2024 Himalayan 452 and GS310. But my honest review will be that the GS310 is like students of some private premium school and Himalayan is like students from premium Govt bindas school. Both are good in their own ways. When you ride Himalayan I don't have to think off road or tarmac but when I ride BMW i have to be extra careful. I love both RE and bmw at the age of 51. Bmw is like Hritik roshan and Himalayan is like Akshay Kumar 😂 From Gangtok Sikkim

Between this and Himalayan suspension duties, what would you prefer ? I rode the Himalayan 450 and I'm getting it very soon - I felt the brakes and suspension were my favourite part about it - however I want to also test ride bikes that outperform the suspension of Himalayan 450. The BMW 310GS seems like a nice contender.
@WolvesandWheels Жыл бұрын
The 310 GS suspension is great for the city /highway but are too soft for off roads. The Himalayan 450 does better on off-roads and almost as good on good roads too. Enjoy your Himalayan 450!

Heard from many 310 GS riders that vibrations doesnt come until 120 kmph on these new 2023 2024 models and also, it is very small on foot pegs st 120 kmph. What was your speed at 6000 rpm?
@WolvesandWheels Жыл бұрын
I have tested extensively on all speeds but vibrations are inevitable post the 100kmph at 6000 rpm. But it's not so bad that you cant live with it, you can happily cruise around 110-120kmph with minor vibes in footpegs. But you wouldn’t want to push the engine too much and if you are used to smooth japanese engines it might be hard to accept.

100-120 just fly, no vibration, nothing, feels absolutely good if you are well geared up.

As long as you're okay with your bike breaking down in the middle of your trip and issues like oil leak and rattling noise from it's body, You can go ahead with Royal Enfield Himalyan.

Nice and honest take! I too loved the looks & suspensions on Baby GS but hated the clunky gearbox, dated dash and lack of features for the same price of KTM 390 Adv. Finally bought KTM 390 Adv Rally with adjustable suspensions and satisfied with soft suspension settings. Himalayan 450 is good too but huge weight and lack of features compared to Ktm Rally are bummer.

33bhp for 175 kg kerb weight not very powerful brother! But definitely its a bike you can live happily with if you can accept the unrefined engine alone as other aspects like suspension and styling are best in class.

very high maintenance for a TVS manufactured engine. Avg annual maintenance cost 10k/service for engine oil change, brake fluid change, chain maintenance, air filter replacement. Hope this helps!
@boxrecap3695 ай бұрын
@@WolvesandWheels i didn't get the tvs manufactured engine what you mean bro
@WolvesandWheels5 ай бұрын
The 310cc engine used in the BMW 310GS is the same TVS manufactured engine in the Apache 310. They share the same engine platform manufactured at TVS plant in India. So TVS has the major role in the development of this engine from BS4 - BS6 than BMW , even though the reverse inclined engineering is BMWs.Hope this clears it up!

Well it has its flaws but the biggest flaw to me is the puny 11ltr fuel tank on a 300cc ADV bike which is pegged to be a highway machine. And no1 talks about this as if its not important when in reality its very important as you need great tank range while touring so that you can save a little on fuel and travel further down the road to your destination with no anxiety on your mind. And thats why i like the G310R as its a great city bike and it knows what is its job is.
@WolvesandWheels11 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I missed it.
@UltralightMotorcycleCamping5 ай бұрын
The small 11 liter fuel tank is what I dislike the most about the G310GS. BMW should make a G310GS Adventure, with an 18 liter tank (more fairing to protect the legs from wind and rain) and spoke tubeless wheels, but they won't, because that would cut into the sales of their 900 and 1300 cc ADV bikes.
@kunal57153 ай бұрын
Really hoping for an Upgrade to come soon for the GS 310. The Fuel Tank capacity needs to be fixed as BMW is Losing out on a Brilliant Product!

Unfortunate, but true. BMW needs to refresh their G310 line up which has basically been unchanged since 2017/18. There needs to be a G410R and GS. Maybe a 450 to really compete.

nice video friend! If one were to upgrade the bike with Rally Raid components (level 2 suspension, new offroad wheels) would it still not make sense over its rivals?
@WolvesandWheels11 ай бұрын
No bro! In my opinion the unrefined engine is the deal breaker. Everything else can be upgraded and customised to suit your needs. Instead of spending on the upgrades which will still not improve the engine, go for a used Triumph Tiger or Ducati Scram. Lesser expensive options like Himalayan 450 or the upcoming KTM 390 ADV would also be better options! Happy Motorcycling!

1- its too heavy for beginners specially if you are going off road (where i live) . 2- throttle is electrically operated and does not response as smoothly as a cable operated motorcycle, its like telling your horse go and he is still thinking about it. 3- neutral gear is impossible to go into when the engine is off it goes from 1st to 2nd instead of first to neutral and then from 2nd it goes directly to first so i have to always use the clutch for starting the bike not good. 4- for a beginner off road you need a seat height a bit lower than gs310 i am 5'10" and a bike like half as heavy, on a black top road you can drive a monster without holding the handle bars. 5- i do not recommend this bike to anyone,specially a beginner 6-i have seen many videos about the gear shifting problems but when the person talking about the problem is a business they always were hesitant to be straight forward.what a shame.

I think the power is very good for a 300 cc bike and I own a fz6 too. I am not comparing them but from my perspective the GS power is adequate . Certainly my main restriction are the fuel tank capacity and the gearbox.
