Would rather not have the fake vent at the back?? The car looks much more sportier with it than without it, you has some character instead of just just a plain old round bumper, I’m tired of people complaining about that fake vent it looks really good. That being said I agree with you on the interior points, driving modes and seat belt hitting the sides.

Dylan the US version doesn’t get the decal nor the stitching in the seat belt. Exhaust tips are also different.

I have to agree with some of these points, especially the driving mode selection (comfort, sports etc). I have had the M340i for a month now and I find myself looking down to change mode while driving. That said it’s an amazing machine and IMO the best of the 3 series (ATM) or at least until the M3 arrives.

You can shortcut any of the numbers to anything on this car. So when on the sync button for ac, just assign it to a number by holding it. Great reviews and watched a couple other videos of yours. Keep it up 😊

I've driven mine since September covering lengthy journeys and town driving, and as a all round performer with the extra BMW kick, I believe this car has nailed it. I think your observations are personal therefore should influence another's decision. Likewise I think people should test drive it defo. I have a 320i and super happy with it.

You are correct about two of your observations firstly the passenger seat belt does rattle when there is no passenger in the car due to the hard plastic B post I have stuck a velcro pad on the area The second issue is the locking button on the drivers door used to be on the centre of the dash so the passenger can reach it if they are in the car on their own now it’s almost impossible to reach

had one of these for 18 months now ,my 4th 3 series 320D ,this is far improved from all the others , I went for the SE version as i didn,t want the low profile runflats ,its comfortable ,quick and very economical ,all the views in this video are opinions and I don,t agree with most of them you pays your money and makes your choice ,but for me its a great car ,the sales figures speak for themselves

First, I am really enjoying the car overall, however I do agree on the passenger seat belt rattling when left by a passenger, as unless you reach over and turn the buckle so the metal is on the inside, the rattle against the plastic B pillar is quite annoying. Also trying to change to Eco mode or changing back to Comfort etc, means you have to take your eyes off the road to FIND the correct button in the lower middle console - that's quite a miss of BMW I feel. For the Safety of a passenger the lock/unlock being only on the driver door is a fair criticism too. Thanks for the review tho - very useful and hopefully BMW will take note..

Useful video! As a current F31 driver and waiting for my G21 to arrive, these are nice things to see. I am amazed at the wiper jets which appear a total waste of engineering time. The original jets were perfect and allowed you to 'pre soak' the windscreen with a few short squirts before wiping. Do agree with the door handles as well. :-D But then; there are worse issues in the world. Enjoy the car!

You got it spot on, I own a g20 320d m sport with sport plus package and tech pack, since launch, end of March and after 5k miles done I realised it has this key points you mentioned. But overall the car is great, I’m loving it in all aspects and we can get use to all over this.

Other than an annoying rattle that’s developed when my sunroof of tilted open, it’s great. I do agree about the interior materials, especially the dash plastic. Much cheaper looking even when compared to a 20 year old E46.

In India spec model we do not get Msport in diesel and even Msport don't get head up display...BMW is really good at costcutting. So finally went I ahead and bought the C300d

My criticisms, and I have OWNED this car are two - Drivers side wing mirror blind spot, quite bad, you have to have to move seat to an unsuitable position to eliminate the blind spot. Also the drivers seat on RHD models is not in an ideal position, because your right foot when it's on the throttle means your right thigh is actually on the seat bolster instead of on the actual seat, as you should be. My own personal experience after short term ownership of a G20 330i. Now got an M135i without these issues. I'm average height and build so it's not me, it's the car. Design flaws unfortunately.

Great video. Watched it whilst doing research on the car - really wanted one but unfortunately had a test drive and it wasnt for me - seats were too hard and narrow for my back and felt the ride was poor despite coming from a c-class AMG Line - ended up looking at a 5er instead

Loved all your other videos Mo but I have to admit, you are nit picking here....... I was expecting to hear.... The drive is awful, fuel economy not as good as you expected, technical issues. But no....... the handles are too big, there’s small areas of plastic here and there, I have to do 2 actions to sync the temp rather than 1 and as for the amount of water the new wipers use.........🤦🏼‍♂️. As mentioned, mine arrives this week so I’ll try and un-see this video 😂. I’m still looking forward to your future videos tho👍🏼

Andrew, thanks for commenting and supporting the channel. The thing is this is my 6th BMW from all ages and seems like some things are made more annoying ergonomically rather than improving them. I do mention in the vid these are overall nit picking issues and should not deter anyone buying one of these cars....you will definitely enjoy the drive that is for sure!

All jokes aside, I totally understand where you are coming from in regards to the plastic (try driving my Lexus IS300h, not that I noticed when I first got it but there’s plastic everywhere in there, even the windscreens plastic🤪 but I’ve still loved driving that for the past 3 years).

I've been in a few Lexi cars and their build quality and use of materials even the plastics are pretty good compared to some BMW's. Don't worry though....the G20's cabin is a nice place to be in. Mo.. For the Sync on the Aircon, have you tried to program one of the fast short cut 1to8 buttons to control that function? I know on the M140i I have set mine for all sorts of items not just the radio?

Just had one on test drive for 2 days. Great car to drive, engine and chassis fantastic. Howere the idrive system is horrible. Can not connect samsung s9+ via usb for music play back. On bluetooth sometimes works other times does not. Reloads list all the time. Searching for music is to many steps. System even at one point displayed menu twice. Ie seach then showes list, album, artist, track for the next part to be same thing again. Then at one point showed list of songs but when you select a song it just played the same song already playing. Cruise conrol over complicted. To be able to activate it you first have to make sure cruise is on and in mode. You can leave it on ready for setting speed via toggle, the set light in dash is only way to tell its on. Problem with leaving it on is if you have it on distance and lane assiat mode the lane assist works all the time even if you turn it off in main settings and are not activally using cruise. Several times i had it pull the car hard if you start to cross a line with out indicating. Ie had motor bike turning right went to go past on left and car goes just over white line it pulled to the right big time and almost caused and accident. About 6 times in 2 days it activated when not needed. Last of all had parked car and gone inside, i was using my phone to watch you tube and all of a suddenly no sound, car had woken up and taken the bluetooth audio. Happened twice first time after abiut 20 mins 2nd time about 2 hrs after parking.

I agree. The bluetooth audio from a Samsung or android device never seems to work. It works better using USB but doesn't display the tacks. Annoying. A full in depth review of idrive 7 is on it's way to the channel

Do you know if the windscreen washer jets on the wiper arms are heated to prevent icing up in winter? I can't find out anywhere, there is no option for it at any spec level in the online configurator and it doesn't seemed to be mentioned in the brochure download. Have you had any winter cold weather issues with the car? One minor ergonomic thing I like in my F22 2 series (which I believe is the same in the F30 old 3 series) is that with auto wipers activated (button on end of right stalk with amber 'on' LED next to it), if they aren't wiping when you want/need you can simply nudge the right stalk for an extra windscreen wipe without deactivating 'auto' wipers. Is this still possible in the G20? It annoys me in my wife's golf that for auto wipers you put the right stick up one position, then you have to nudge it down through 'off' and tap down again to trigger a single wipe, then you have to manually return it back to the auto position.

Hi yes I believe they are heated. I've never had an issue in the winter months with them. I agree with the auto wiper stalk. On all 2018 onwards BMW have changed the button for auto wipers into the stalk function.

It's bloated. A 5 series-light. Cheap feeling and fussy switch-gear. Ugly display, which is un-configurable. etc etc. I've owned a 2012 3 series 2 dr, 2013 3 series 2 dr, 2015 3 series 4dr, and currently a 2018 3. I will now be leaving the brand because this is no longer a 3 series. Again, it's bigger than a 5 series of 5 years ago, and I doesn't feel sporty or nimble in the slightest. And please, don't tell me about straight line speed.

I agree with your criticisms. That big plasticky speaker on the top of the central dash looks cheap and ugly as well. Whoever designed and or signed off on the dash and button layout, needs a bucket of water poured over their fucking head. He/she ruined the simplicity and beauty of BMW displays and dashboards. This car doesn't feel like a BMW 3-series should.

I don't understand the problem with the B-pillar cover and the seatbelt? The cars I owned had different finish about that: plastic, some type of textile, some soft "thing" (I don't know what it was) or even leather trim...there is absolutely not any scratch on any car in this area! Why? Because it's all a point of behaviour ;). I always guide the seat belt into his "parking position". But I also know what you mean because I see some and enough people who only loose the lock and then the seat belt snaps back. And result? Scratches on B-pillar and side windows....

My point being that everytime the seat belt is released and hits the b pillar it makes a horrible clonking noise because the pillar trim is hard brittle plastic. It could have been damped a bit better.

Definitely without a question. This is a far more advanced car. The interior is now very much in the 'Audi' League. Drive and engines have always been better than Audi's anyway....

Yes mate. I'd also go for the MSport Plus pack too to it looks nicer too. You also get the HUD, 19" wheels, Msport brakes and the obligatory Adaptive Suspension!!

Hmm yea, the standard ride height is a bit tall, the must have options are a bit expensive, the sun glares onto the drivers display and you can't see the Speedo, the rear visibility is a bit poor, and there's nowhere to put my pound coins like there was in the old E36......might be able to find a few more.....

Because I like the side decals and it's my car so I'll option it as I like. The door handles are unnecessarily large....maybe the US customers have big hands and market research suggested bigger door handles....

I live in Los Angeles. I have a 2020 G20 330i. I've had it for two months. Before that I had two E90s, and two F30s. I loved those. My G 20, is easily my least favorite BMW. It's not even a 3-series. It's a 5-series light. Make no mistake. It feels big, it's fussy and un-configurable Instrument display is a mess. My god, I hate it. The switchgear, is completely cheap feeling shit. The steering is way too light, even in sports mode, and the car irritates me no end. From the start/stop button being positioned in the center console, to the backwards facing rev counter, to the shitty, and I do mean shitty sound system, At least you have the Harmon-Kardon system. (my 2018 F30 did too) My car is inferior to my 2018 330i in so many ways. I would never recommend this car to anyone. I had a loaner 2021 M340i for a couple of days, and that was more exciting to drive, but it still has the garbage Instrument display, and cheap feeling buttons. I don't mind the looks of the car, and it has a new steering wheel which is ok, the seats are comfortable, and the ride is smoother and more refined. It's too refined. As I said, It feels like a BMW 5- series. It lacks that BMW 3-series X-factor. I don't like the car, and I'm looking to get out of the lease within six months.
