Great video! I think I'll pull my fuel pump and go through these steps in preparation for a long trip. Bike is a 2000 F650GS with 33,000 miles. I'm the 9th owner! Go figure. Anyway, thanks for a great effort and valuable information!

well, it's easy to pull, and inspect, see what you've got. those rubber gizmos are probably toast by now. The pressure regulator/filter might be due ?

Thanks for the video, wife's G650 quit, last time I whacked the fuel pump with a mallet and it got lively for a couple years, not so much now. fuel pump is stuck.

time for an aftermarket replacement.

@@captlarry-3525 Ordered one, uncrimped old pump, rotor was stuck lightly to the housing, soaked whole thing in lacquer thinner and it freed up after a few spins, recrimped the base back on and it runs while waiting on new parts.

Thanks for making this video it's a great reference. My fuel light is always on. I think the previous owner might have installed the float switch upside down when the fuel pump was rebuilt or the wiring needs attention.

luckily it is easy to test and easy to fix.

Where exactly can you fine a fuel float switch for $29? I can't fine one at all. Thanks!
