Another top video Anna. At long last someone explains why BMW didn't just pack a bigger battery in the car or attach a heavy battery trailer for that matter (parking on the high street could make you really popular with the locals). Batteries are heavy little devils and the bigger the battery the heavier the devil. Physics as you mention plays a part, heavy things do not change direction as easy as lighter things, it's called inertia. However BMW (other makes are available) with all those clever big brained pixies currently cannot change the laws of physics. Things might be manageable in the dry but in the wet or snow that bend you wanted to go round has now long gone as you continue to plough onwards at a tangent hoping that a tree does not have your name on it. Cracking production values as always Anna and thanks for sharing.

I love the distress marks (coloration) in the dash that look like majoring cracking. They are getting you ready for your future. When people ask me if electric versions of German cars are OK, I tell them they can't be any worse if you keep them more than two years.

At £97 k or €115K in the EU, is that value for money with such a short range, you have to half it if you are going back home, who need 601BHP on modern roads today, why not have one rear motor ( the correct way to have drive) and 400 BHP to give longer range, 400BHP is fine, look at the M5 a few models ago with a proper engine. Love the yellow skirt 😍 back seat was roomy, in sport mode your skirt got shorter 😂 worth having, thanks for a great review, beautiful car inside and out, wrong power source.

It's a very impressive car, but who really needs that much power and acceleration capacity for a town run around? Looks okay, and quick, but that range is going to drop like a stone in cold weather. So, a good car that is not practical for either town or motorway. The public are not buying electric cars, the governments are forcing manufacturers to produce more of what the customer doesn't want. A mad world we live in. Bet they would sell thousands if they stuck a V6 or V8 petrol hybrid engine up front. Excellent review Anna as ever.

We should really stop looking at the WLTP range for performance EVs. It's like looking at the WLTP consumption of a gas sport car and think it will do that while driving normally

It is a luxury sedan. BMW i5 M60 111.276,-- Euros 2.2 tons weight 3,8 seconds 0-100. Nobody in a BMW would place a mere no name Amazon basics water bottle in on tof the premium cup holders. It must be at least Evian or Illy coffee.

I can charge my car from empty to full in 2 minutes at any fuel station in the UK. Petrol is much better, with better range and no range anxiety. Seems to be a decline in EV sales, reflected in why they don't hold their price very well. As a car enthusiast I've never been convinced with EV's with the overall picture of manufacturing car and the life of ownership, it's not really a green fuel. If we are forced down this pathetic net zero (another tax) route, then hydrogen is a better way to go. Otherwise great video as usual.

@@AnnaOnRoadsIt differs from country to country. In Norway 90% of all sold cars are EVs in 2024. In Germany EVs have a mixed reputation, because there is a lot of misinformation circulating. Personally I own a i4 M50 and it’s an amazing car…endless power, low ongoing costs, superb comfort. Range can be an issue, but only for people who are driving over 300 miles every day. I owned different BMWs and Mercedes in the past and I will never go back to petrol cars….and I don’t want to support oil companies anymore.

I am not sure. Just for fun I would probably buy a Tesla M3 Performance instead of a much pricier BMW i5. Maybe BMW's built quality etc. is better. But seeing 3 years old e vehicles for € 58.000 (new € 150.000) with under 50.000 km (Audi) ...😳

Bmw overall looks decent and as usual interior is cheaply made with lousy dashboard ok starting to believe a reviwer that always says bmw team doesnt seem to care about inside quality of their cars and thats has always beung the case

The range 300km at best is a real bugbear of these high performance cars. I wouldn’t buy such a car unless it can do 700km+. The day should come. That lemon yellow dress hugs the curves of our dear Anna nicely.

The seats are vegan (not leather as claimed) and the tunnel in the back is the transmission tunnel, which is nothing to do with the exhaust as wrongly claimed by this amateur car journalist
