The temperature sensor was not in the gearbox I think.

You are the first one to spot and comment that mistake. The temp gauge is in fact in the engine sump which has a separate oil capacity to the gearbox.

@@heincarpenter Thank you. They are all one take videos. Sometimes I make a mistake and don't notice until later. If I take the video down to edit it I lose all the views as well as all the links. If I make a really misleading mistake I will take the video down.

Nice touch with the electric cooling fan over-ride : ^) I added this to my K75 with the best quality premixed coolant. There is an eBay Kenlowe copy fan in my bike. Ride Happy !

My 1990 k75 starts cold wonderfully but will die after maybe 5 miles. If I start it up cold ride, around the block, turn it off, it won't turn on, I wonder if anything in this awesome video would help me. Good stuff, let me know your thoughts, thank you.

This sounds more like a problem with the electrics, most likely the Hall Effect Sensor or faulty ignition switch. Your best bet is to join the BMW K75/100 Purists Facebook Group and ask on there. Someone will know the answer straightaway and help you.

Did you ever get that figured out? I'm having a similar issue.
@JohnJFSalamone8 ай бұрын
@@benzeneAndCordite I replaced the fuel pump and hall effect sensor to no avail. I then moved my ignition switch from the side of the bike to the top on the handlebars, sprayed a bunch of electronic cleaner in it and the problem has not returned.

I like the headlight console on your bike , I have the bikini fairing on mine but would like to swap for the type you have , looking at Motorworks they sell the components to make up the complete thing , but it's knowing which bits I need to do the job , and I'm wondering if I take the bikini top off , would I be left with the parts to integrate for the conversion. ? Any thoughts on this which might help . Any info would be appreciated. Thank you 😊 .

Mine is the basic standard model but I always thought the only difference to the K75C was the headlight fairing. I would think it would be a straight swap using the basic bracket but I guess you would need a chrome bowl as well.

Buy a new switch for the fan (to know for sure that the fan wil kick on) and replace the thermostat, no thermostat wil give you a colder engine in cold weather and more fuel consumption as a result.
@johnnysevengun4 ай бұрын
I have put in a new temp sensor but I do not trust them to turn the fan on early enough hence the independent switch. I also replaced the thermostat although tbh I didn't see much change in the fuel consumption. Maybe 58mpg instead of 60mpg.
