BMW M135i. Best hot hatch ever?

This is a short video as to why i chose the M135I over the compertition.
I have been looking into these cars for ages and i loved this one for the sound and the seir exitment.

Yep, the EWG M135i pre-LCI is the undisputed best hot hatch ever, when you factor in absolutely everything (reliability, fuel economy, performance, sound, interior, looks etc). There is nothing that competes with it for the price, all the other M140i comments are pure delusion they are spending almost 50% more money on 10% more car.

I wouldn’t say it’s the best, but it’s indeed an exotic one. A 3.0 inline 6 with RWD and a ZF box, all pack in such little hatchback. Even BMW don’t make them like this anymore

The 140i with a few mods is streets ahead!,the b55 motor is no match for the b58,like comparing the Mini Cooper S. supercharged, With the turbo charged version!

But for the price i dont agree, The N55 engine is a good engine to start with, it genuinly doesnt hold a candle to the potential i see on youtube of the B58 but for the price of the cars (dependent on needs and wants) the M135i is more obtainable and give money spare for mods, a simple stage one n55 im sure would keep up with a stock b58. I would love to try it but that is for a future date.

The M135i is great, but the M140i is better still. It is a shame that there wasn't a proper M variant as well. The made an M2 so why not an M1 version for those who need a hatchback?

OMG yes if the had done a hatchback of the m2 and maybe called it the 1m again like they did was it 10 years ago, that would have been amazing. the m1 is definitly reserved for the clasic 😁 I agree but it was about budget for me, i was only 21 when i bought the car and the insurance premium was £4k for an m140i but only £1,200 for the M135i straight away a massive saving. the price of the car, i think i got mine with almost 9k of options for £16k where as the equivalant M140i was 26 still at the time. £10k in monds is where the m135i would dominate the m140i but again if you ahve the money yes the m140i is the better car and will keep up with just about anything on british road with a couple of mods here and there. thank you for watching.

Now hold on, maybe this title should read 'in my opinion' because in mine the m135i and later m140i were fine cars but the best no and that's from someone who has had 3 BMWs and a m140i We live in a country where it rains a lot and it can get cold and even snow on the odd occasion, the aforementioned cars are great in dry warm conditions but in less than perfect conditions the other cars you mentioned with four wheel drive and less power run rings around the BMW. There's a reason BMW have now gone with four drive in its new hot hatch m135i because it knows that the Golf r, Audi s3, merc a35 all offer a more rounded usable performance in good and bad weather.

I do agree that it is my opinion and not fact but thats what the video was about. i do agree that the other cars area better all round cars but that isnt the point of the bmw, it stands out more than the rest, the other looks the same old same old hatch back, even the new M135i is just a borning four wheel drive powerful hatchback. The experiance from the RWD BMW's is to cherish and that why they "IN MY OPINION" the much better car. 😁 I always love coments and if you own one or multiple of the cars mentioned above i would be delighted to do a video with you on these. i 100% agree, why just have the same as eveyone else with the all wheel drive, makes no sence. In some cases you are right it would be better to ahve an m140i, BUT. For the price im not sure. For the same speck in a m140i it is a lot of money, so that why i got this, i can put mods on it and still be better off and potentially have a better car at the end of it. @@lukeskywalker1666 why would anyone considering buying a hot hatchback with four wheel drive consider buying a front wheel drive less powerful Cooper s, makes no sense. Also where and under what conditions do you see the old m140i being able to "obliterate" the new m135i

@@markrhoden68 JCW cooper s is about 300bhp, better handling then a 135i, I live in london, when ever 135i sees me they dont bother trying it, 135i is an absolute garbage car

I have to agree. They are both brilliant hatchbacks, and have that missing ingredient that all those AWD clones are lacking, FUN. But, the B58 is such an immense engine, and the styling is so much nicer than the 1st gen M135i, and even the facelift has those horrible blobby rear lights, that I think the M140i are worth the extra. I'm biased of course (see pic). Personally, I love the fact they look so 'normal', and that is why I bought one. If I wanted silly fake vents n splitters and massive wings I'd have bought something else. Mine is staying completely standard looking, I even de-badged it. I will spend all my money on the bits you can't see, because it's so much fun pulling away from cars twice the price (and more). Currently 455bhp/634nm.
