The car 'dug-in' when it hit the Tarmac. The tyres grip and that's what causes a car to flip. I've seen a few cars spin here when not catching oversteer. They are usually arrested before they hit the track entry lane. If you're carrying too much speed in on the right hander into the pit straight, best relax and let the car run wide. There's loads of extra track on the other side at the left. I'm no race driver, but just sharing what I was told be an instructor. Might as well share this for safety reasons as it has helped me. I was at Bedford the week after and was told about the incident. So unfortunate for the car owner, but great to know that both driver and passenger were ok.

I was there too and was in the pits when this happened ,i have done a fair few track days at Bedford as its on my door step and I have seen more than one or two cars lose it in front of the pits, im just glad the driver and his passenger got out safely but thats more than could be said for the car !....... Bedford is probably the safest track in England (I have driven a few others) but there are a few places where you can get caught out and have an off but I think this bloke was unlucky as the car dug in and then rolled and as they say .............there for the grace of God go I

Captain Hindsight: When all else fails, try to enter sand traps as straight as you can, even if that means directly backwards. Not much this guy could have done though.
