The overheating problem you see here is likely due to using a tuning box and not a proper remap. Tuning boxes tell your engine to add more boost and advance the timing, they don't accurately readjust the cooling. B58 engines have a very efficient water to air intercooler which is capable of dealing with

@@NickName-nickname yeah I suspect this is the reason most people buy tuning boxes - unfortunately it's not true that your warranty will still be intact as your car will have permanently logged exactly what's featured in this video! Ie oil temps as high as 150°, which could never be achieved by a stock engine, so it's clear the engine has been tampered with

What oil viscosity were you running ? 150°C is a lot and if you put your usual 5W30 into a calculator then at 150°C it's half of the viscosity at 100°C or like a 0W20 at 125°C. Oil cooler asap I'd say.

Yea he needs to cool it. I thought n54 engine was hot running at 120 normal speed, immediately bought a better cooling system dropping it down 100~

That engine needs work with oil temps like that. Yes I know it’s on the Nurburgring but still your temps shouldn’t be getting to that.

@@993outlaweasier said than done. The ecu’s are locked and you have to mail your ECU off to be unlocked for several times what a piggyback box costs. Also, you would need to disclose to the dealer that you have unlocked and tuned the ECU as their maintenance work can re-lock and reset the ECU.

I drove both hard back to back and also both on the highway and in some mild city traffic. VERY different cars. M3 is much more firm and tight and m340i is more comfortable but not TOO soft. The 340 I drove also had the m-sport suspension option and performance brake and tire package and it felt like a perfect daily. Also the m3 was going to be $30k more and 30k will buy a TON of performance parts for the 340 with plenty left over. I went to the dealer fully intending to order an M3 but ended up spec’ing a fully loaded 340 and still came in 20 grand cheaper vs the M3 we spec’d.

Misha i want to sell my E92 M3 and 320d and buy one more universal car. M3 E92 in highway burn a lot of fuel and have to short gearbox on the other hand 320d is borning :-P The car is mainly used for daily drive but also for occasional track day and above all, for the joy of driving. I am considering buying a BMW F80 LCI and G20 PRE lci whis car is for this better in your opinion?

@@mgcharoudin Ok thanks for you opinion. I know G20 is much more modern but i wonder if transition from real M car to M performance is not a step back especially at the track. I used to have 335i e92 and i see big difference between this cars. M3 E92 have very good feeling and in my opinion is very good track tool. My doubts would be dispelled by a test drive on the track, but unfortunately no one will provide me with such a car for such tests, so I have to rely on the opinions of others...
