BMW M340i - Missing Options?

The laser lights on the pre lci is the one spec you might not think you need but can’t do without when you have it. The DRL just looks incredible and makes pre lci DRL without it look incomplete. HUD is great and electric memory seats is nice too esp if you have a so On the other hand, comfort access (comes in the comfort pack) is overrated and could even be a security risk. Rather just use the card/phone key personally Nice video

Yep definitely agree your comments about the laser lights. It actually makes the car look different from the front end. Would be interesting to know (in the UK at least) how many pre-lci cars were optioned with the laser lights…..

Nice car. I have the 330i and love it minus the SensaTec seats and sunroof rattling.

Covid delays and deletions were a bit of a lottery unfortunately, bits could be deleted one week and back on again the following. My original factory order was delayed so many times and I was then fortunate enough to secure a similar spec on a cancelled order which I jumped on. Omissions on mine were the charging dock and the boot floor rails (part of comfort plus on the touring). I was fortunate enough not to lose out on other bits that had previously been omitted on others. I would have loved to have had visibility pack but this was not on the car I ended up with. Even without some of these “nice to have” bits you still have a fantastic car though, as you said the B58 is one of the main selling points but add on some of the standard spec items such as adaptive suspension and the whole package is incredible. Thanks Chris! Funny how you talk about the charging pad because I saw saw many 330i’s supposedly with the tech pack but had HK sound gesture control but no HUD and no charging pad - lol. I guess it is what it is and I am glad that I’ve got a decent spec m340i with the Vis and comfort pack. I really wanted the heated steering wheel so was limited as it was. Got a few vids lined up….how to vids, comparison to my M4 etc so yes please stay tuned buddy!

HUD, ACC with autopilot driving (keeps the car between the lanes) and the rare, optional, M3 sport seats are my favorite options. I have an Oxid grey touring/wagon with all options except gesture control.

The Covid spec deletion was a right ball ache . I ordered an F40 M135i which kept getting delayed , with knock on effects to spec deletion . Ended up instead with one of the first G42 M240i Xdrive’s in the country , pretty much fully loaded and no spec deletion

That worked out well for you I guess. M240i is a well nice car over the M135i. Do you still have it?

@ I do mate , will be 3 years next March. Thinking of keeping it a few more years and maybe doing slight mods like KW V3 suspension and braking upgrades .

@TM240x yea it’s quite a good time to do the mods because you’ll be able to notice the difference and it’ll feel like a new car!

I agree…I had it on my previous G20 320d but was surprised to find that most used M340’s didn’t have it.

The biggest missing option is in the rear. You didn't get the wagon. It's by far the most important option.

Hahaha, yes that’s a fair comment! The Touring is the ultimate Q-car/Swiss Army Knife and whatever else one may call it. For me the Saloon/Sedan is great. Check out my M340d Touring vid - you’ll love the spec on that!

Years ago I had a F36 440i gc without HK, I upgraded the sound system using a Vibe kit consisting of updated mids, subs, tweeters and amp. Could be an option to consider?

Nice one. I really think it can do with some tweeters and amp. Definitely will look into some aftermarket sound. 🙌

@wakaflockaproject can’t compare this to a mk8 GTI or a mk7 the performance is unrivalled in all aspects. Different type of car altogether.

By far two best options your BMW could have had are Head-up Display and ACC. Unfortunately, you didn't get them.

I would have liked the HUD as part of tech pack. I had it on my previous G20 320d which is why I’m thinking more about it. I’ve also got it in my M4 of course. I was surprised to see how many used M340i’s didn’t have it though. ACC, it comes standard in the VW golf’s lol but it’s an option on all 3 series…..

Sorry for my profile brodr regards politics and religions it is bad I will change brodr. I love car first. I own mercedes Gts 4 door, e46 m3 and m3 e36 all with low mile. You can try brodr if want. I keep them with low miles under 20k. Salaams

M235i (F22) with the 3.0 I6 wasn’t the b58. It was the N55. The M235i (F44) has the B48 engine and yes was never a fan of that model. Much prefer the M135i
