I've noticed that the microphone doesn't pick up the exhaust note that well. I've uploaded a couple videos of the car driving down the straight at TMP. The audio in those videos are definitely different compared to the recordings in the garage.

@@AD-xq4hono I get his point. The part where I showed the start up from the back, the Go Pro camera just doesn’t pick up audio all that well. Sounds like a VW Golf for a moment. Some of the flyby videos I posted were recorded on iPhone and it seems like the audio is a more accurate portrayal of what it’ll sound like in person. It’s hard to perfect the sound of a S55 :/

I can either agree/disagree and respond back with my own perspective, or I can just be a total dick about it. to be honest it sounds like shit... Equal length should sounds deep and no rasps. I think the reason why sounds shit is because of Catless down pipes and no resonated. all catless makes sounds real shit like Honda.

It’s hard to perfect the sound of a S55. IMO, N55 with a simple exhaust set up (only catless dp) sounds better than a S55. I know someone with a catted high flow dp mated with the same non res midpipes. I’ll probably make a comparison video sometime in the future. Hopefully it’ll help others who plan to buy the AA EL midpipe better decide how they’ll set up their cars. In person, the car definitely sounds deeper and the rasp is only heard from within the cabin around 2400-2700 rpm… in other words, keep the revs above 2700 rpm while driving 😂

Yea it seems to be quite tricky to get a really great sound from these cars, especially when you're catless. Im personally thinking im going to stay with stock downpipes and muffler, and just do a midpipe. I just keep bouncing back and forth between equal and single. One video im like "oh yea eql for sure" then another and im all over the single. Wish i could hear both in person side by side, microphone quality seems to greatly affect how they sound on video. I heard a single midpipe in person and it sounded very different from any video

⁠@@mizaqenyad4269best way to get an in person comparison is meeting people at BMW car meets. I have a friend with a F83 Jahre edition running only EL midpipes with stock downpipes and the diaper bag muffler. This set up definitely helped raise the decibel level compared to stock. Unfortunately, it still has some raspiness but it isn’t terrible. If you want a good sounding car, you gotta get N/A or Supercharged.

Add some small resonators, TR series. I have some I'm selling if you want. They are 4" resonatoes you can have welded to the connector pipes before the muffler. I had a similar set-up with my MPE.

@@carsandcoldbrew6489 I know someone with the resonated mid pipe. His car sounds better at lower RPM. My car is more high pitched at higher RPM. I’ll try to record some audio comparing both cars in the future
