The 2023 BMW GS Safari - one epic trek from Healesville to Bathurst. Five unforgettable days of riding and over 1,500km took 300+ riders across 2 weeks through the Victorian and New South Wales high country, through Australia’s Capital, over the Great Diving Range, finishing up in the central tablelands city of Bathurst.

Did a heap of Safari's for a decade from 1998 from taking the Adventure option in Tassie and then the very first GS Safari. I tend to sit much more these days, even leaving the car park :-) I don't like eating dust prefer to ride a group of six mates spaced out on roads around Australia. Maybe if I was twenty years younger? I do enjoy watching these videos of many roads I have ridden.

I wish BMW would host Safaris in other regions as well. The only official event here are the tryouts for the Trophy and the Trophy itself, but that's invitation/qualifying only and more o less a race.

90% of the riders were on Metzeler Karoo 4, I finished the week (3,500km) on one set inc the ride home. I'm not sure what split they are but they are trail focused, great grip and feedback off-road and the same onroad in the twisty stuff etc up to 140kph (allegedly)...

I hear week 2 didn't deserve the same treatment and get a video despite the same costs and all of the same promises on the marketing material prior to the sign up and parting with the same $1000's of dollars........... and they are still waiting for the photos that were taken by the event photographer.....Despite all the promises.....still nothing! Shame
