BMW N47 Engine clean EGR intake manifold

Thanks for sharing. I've done quite a few of these now, my preferred method if you have time is to remove all electronic components and sensors, mix 500g of caustic soda into a large tub of hot water and submerge the entire manifold for a few hours. Once it's got to work on the grime, it will brush off without any effort leaving the manifold as clean as the day it left the factory.

FYI if anyone is doing this in the UK, Mr Muscle oven clean works amazing at cleaning off carbon. Currently doing it now and it has cleaned my intake manifold and EGR valve without any effort. I used about 2 cans

My Bavarian car is protecting Londoner’s. They should be paying for my Inlet cleaning!! That shit would be in people’s lungs if it wasn’t for BMW genius. Other cars simply spit it out with the exhaust.

there are some standard tools needed, torx and some nuts, nothing specials

no, i think for better mpg you should clean inlet canal, i didnot do it.
