I know this is an old video but I’ve just done this today on jack stands and used your video and I’d like to say thank you

This video is fantastic. They did another video for the FMIC and saved me a ton of time. For that reason and the fact that they know exactly how to do these types of jobs I will be buying some parts from them. Nice to see guys who know what they are doing and put things like this together for the DIY guys.

This has been incredibly helpful. Thank you! I need to put an HPF product on my short term mod list. One question I had though is, what torque specs do you guys use for the flywheel bolts (6 bolt), and also the remaining, non-aluminum bell housing bolts?
@BamaE9211 жыл бұрын
Very well done video! You both seem like very sharp guys, that video was easy to follow. Still on the fence though about replacing my 335i's DMF and clutch myself though....crazy how many steps are involved!

great video but i wonder the difference of procedure on my 535xi. looks straight forward minus the amount of brackets and labeling.

Any idea how similar this is to a N55 135i? They have a different clutch I would assume there are some variations.

Wow, an entire clutch R&R and not a single cuss word! Good job guys! LOL, love the wood block brace tip, wonder how you figured that one out? The same way we all do, right? Was that an upgrade or did that "low mileage" 135 already toast a clutch?

I noticed you marked the prop shaft before you disconnected it from the rear of the transmission. Why? I had a replacement trans(auto) installed in my 335i last week but my mechanic never marked to position of the prop shaft. Now I have a vibration under load at about 1200-1800 rpm. No vibration under gentle acceleration. Any thoughts?
@atlanticsteroids962510 жыл бұрын
I believe it has something to do with maintaining the balance. Your mechanic should have known that.

Bungie cord to lift works DOPE for the driveshaft. And just a paint pen across the o2 connectors. I can get this all out of the way in like 30 minutes lol.

I have a question, I recently purchased a 2013 BMW 135i with 6 speed manual transmission with no reverse. Reverse is there however it grinds and will not engage and all other gears work great. Using your guidance, I removed the transmission, (wow was that fun) and now I need to repair the reverse gear, can you give me any idea what I need to do. I love your videos and watch everyone I find, keep up the good work and hopefully look forward to hearing from you soon.

you take it to a transmission shop. You don't want to be fucking around inside the transmission unless you know what your doing.

How do you torque the crazy hidden bolts on the top of the transmission? Still use the swivel socket? Would that change the torque settings on the wrench?
@raj-cr4nl8 жыл бұрын
No, torque would be the same.

A mechanic took my gearbox out for repair and then another few mechanics done work to my n54. Eventually, someone forgot to put the oil cooler back on. Now my gearbox is damaged and needs repair. I'm thinking of getting a used gearbox and fitting it in myself. This looks way to complicated though so I think I'll just sell my car..

Call me crazy, but when i bought my clutch they sent me the wrong clutch alignment tool. My brother lined up the splines best he could by eye and we got the transmission to go together without the tool.
