Hey. I got E87 (series 1) with N46B20B engine. My fan is working on very low RPM and it is not dependent on temperature or air conditioning. Sometimes it won't turn on at all. After connecting INPA and controlling it, it starts at maximum speed without a problem. Is it a problem with DME that it doesn't control this fan? It seems to me that after turning on the air conditioning, even though it only cools the condenser, it should spin much faster.

Awesome video mate. Really helpful as I have an original 08' e87 fan to test and a new one that I have not seen running due to a potential signal problem. Is there anything related to the frequency buttons that may need to change depending on the car model or just keep it on the default? Much appreciated!

you can change the frequency if you want, it won't hurt anything, it may change the way the fan runs, but I found that around 100 was a consistent setting for these E70 fans.

@@rigmaster1 Thanks for getting back to me mate, much appreciated. The PWM generator is a cheap piece of kit for the potential reward of seeing the fan running again. At the least it will knock off something from the 'things to check list'. All the best!

hello, my electric fan does not start when I press the air conditioner. the 20 fuse burns in 2 seconds. what could be the problem. my car is e38 from 1994. Thank you

Can you do this test on nissan altima blower moter 3 wire

if it uses a PWM signal for the 3rd wire, plus positive and negative- it should work just the same, but try it at your own risk.

As far as I know, you cannot. You need to "command" the fan with a PWM generator like the video, or using an ECU or other electronics. This method is by far the easiest if your ECU is not working properly or if you are using a PWM fan in a different application.
