Ja, einerseits eine faszinierende Maschine wegen dem einzigartigen Motor und der 'klassischen' Optik - andererseits auch etliche Nachteile: Schräglagenfreiheit? ... Kein guter Windschutz? ... Beine ausstrecken auf längeren Touren / Tourentauglichkeit insgesamt? ... wie verhält sich der Bock bei österreichischen Verhältnissen /schmale Straßen, enge Kurven, Alpen? ... hohes Gewicht? ... hoher Anschaffungspreis? ... ABER - das Video ist gut gemacht!

Die Schräglagenfreihheit entspricht dem Cruiser Standard. Auf engen Straßen ist sie besser zu handlen als die Amerikaner. Durch die hohe Sitzbank ist der Kniewinkel entspannt genug. Nur am Windschutz muss man arbeiten :)

I have the Classic and it's very much in the same riding triangle as other touring machines. The only thing I'm replacing immediately is the seat with a Corbin touring with a backrest for her, stock is only good for 1 hour then my butt hurts. The passenger is a joke, small and hard, NPI.

Leistungsreduktionslader :-) Entnimmt dem Ansaugtrakt Luft, damit dort ein Unterdruck entsteht, der den Füllungsgrad der Zylinder senkt, damit die Leistung ins Cruiser-Segment passt. Würde sonst die ehemaligen Harley-Fahrer erschrecken und verstören, wenn sich das nicht nach einspurigem Traktor anfühlen würde. :-)

@@Schaaf Yeap, I jumped from your previous R18 video and compared the two. The bass does wonders, really. While I do agree that it sounds close to an American cruiser, you can still hear the difference thanks to the boxers compared to the typical V-twin of an Americruiser.

From one Classic owner to another...👌🤙 Regarding the buffeting, after trying multiple windscreens, I determined that it's air from below, not over the top. I added wind deflectors from Memphis Shades (USD$99) and couldn't be more pleased.

I'm so glad BMW gave the world a new cruiser, and one with a big engine at that. I love the fact this bike's looks got so much legacy, so much DNA that dates back to their products from the 1930's, even though it packs 21st-century tech.

is the seating position comfortable for you?? I travelled almost 1.5 hrs to literally just see this bike, and I like literally everything but the seating position. When I sat on the bmw r18, I kept naturally pushing my feet forward and when i sat on the bmw r18B i did the same but not as much. Its not necessarily uncomfortable, but its not comfortable.

Schaaf, another great video. The location was excellent. I understand you are running the engine through the gears for the fun factor and the sound. I hope sometime in the future on one of these videos you can take a wee bit of time in high gear and let it lug down to the lower end of the rpm range and accelerate in top gear. To folks not used to riding motorcycles with such huge amounts of torque at near idle this seems very strange but the sound is impressive. It is also an impressive ride when one can do that, much like driving a car with a big American V8 engine from the past. As always your recordings are fantastic. I believe this is in no small part to your great work with the throttle, I feel like I am riding the bike in your video.

Damn! This bike THUMPS I’m listening on a JBL sound system in my truck and this is MUSIC! I will say, particularly since this will be compared to big American baggers If BMW put a full fairing it would be tons more tolerable over very long runs at high speed. Any length of time spent over 80 mph with a fairing that rattles your head will detract from the experience. Plus it protects the rider from bugs and debris better.

Hi Schaaf, I live in Málaga and know these roads. The bike looks awesome and sounds even better but you can't lean at all. Footpegs scratch immediately. If you are looking for a big and beautiful cruiser with a great sound just to go slow and enjoy the landscape, this is your bike. But if you want to do twisties and have some dynamic ride, this bike is terrible. Triumph Rocket 3 is perfect for that and even more beautiful. It depends on what you are looking for.
