Nice how relaxing a ride on an RS is, great road...

@@soraksan321 yes if the weather was nice, and I didn’t have a foot recovering from surgery. I’d certainly be out there. I gotta start twisting some wrenches on the RS as soon as I can. Great to hear from you!

@ Sorry to hear- Wish i could give you a hand with it (built my RS from scratch) btw, if it gets too cold to ride the RS, find a Parabellum windscreen for the winter, works wonders...
@Jdilpkle17 күн бұрын
@@soraksan321 I did look at the Parabellums. I didn’t want to change the look of the original screen, but yes, the original is horrendous for wind noise.

I've never ridden Glendora Ridge Road. I'll have to give it a go. I have been to Crystal Lake and have been hoping to experience the fantasy world where the powers that be decide to reopen Hwy 39 all the way to the Angeles Crest Hwy. Thanks for the tour!

Rob, on a weekday, GRR is one of the best technical riding roads around. It does get way dirtier than 39.

They just had a couple of hearings about rebuilding the closed section. Sounds like it won't be done until 2033 if it goes ahead though.

Looks like Glendora Mountain Rd is a good one too...

@@soraksan321 yes, a good very twisty one, but it gets busy on weekends and is dirty often in the tighter corners. Have to ride aware.

Nice ride out. I had a 79 RS briefly. Great bikes.

Great having you here - welcome! The BMW bug bites pretty hard when it lands on you. I’ve wanted one for many many years but couldn’t work up the courage to push away from the sport and naked high hp bikes until about 3 years ago. So very glad I did. Again, welcome! Joe.

@@Jdilpkle At the time I was 18 years old, I kept it for 3 years. The driving position was average for slow speed journeys (neck pain). the fairing protects very well, even from the rain! Once I lost the front and fell at 20 kmh, without problem thanks to the cylinder protection... Lots of good memories with it. I kept a new R100R from 1992 for 25 years then a Kawasaki Z900RS Café Verte and this week I'm waiting for my new bike, a new Africatwin Adventure Sport 2023!!! Enjoy V

I miss my R100RS, Alaska Blue. Should never sold it.

I fully understand. I’ve had bikes that I kick myself for selling, but I’m thankful to be able to continue to ride anything.

@@Jdilpkle I have owned 53 bikes since 1965. 15 were BMW. 5 Moto Morini, 2 Guzzi Le Mans, Metralla, NSU Super MAX, 71 Commando, 2 Montessa, DKW 50cc 5 speed a former pit bike for Mercedes Benz racing team, Germany. Benelli Tornado S2 a few others. When I was hit from behind in an off ramp by a crazed yuppie bxxxx doing 80 MPH according to the fireman who was following her for 5 miles in an attempt to contact the CHP..I was doing 45 looking for a gas station.. I was on my Morini 500Cammel.. red Italian and gold, red leathers, yellow helmet with a 4 inch red stripe...she didn't see me.. I flew about 45 ft, she dragged the Morini 200 feet down the off ramp and was stopped by the fire truck on the way to picking up my body..Cops got her, said she didn't see me.. foiled by the off duty fireman who gave them the real story. lots more to the story.. My wife asked me to back off biking for a while. Offed 7 bikes.. dumb move. I would like to get back on and get either another R60/5 or another 68 Paris Dakar. PS Along with my Ducati 900SS riding buddy we founded the Monterey Bay European Motorcycle Club in 1982. It was ok for a few years until the yuppies invaded. I'm now in So Oregon, beautiful places to ride.. hmmmmmm.
