2 MIstakes done. 1 you going such roads on anakee3. 2nd you do not have protective engine covers doing such rock surface hard trips!!!! result a lot of problems!!! Hope you get your lesson !!!!

Glücklicherweise wurde nur der Zylinderkopfhaube getroffen

It's painful to watch - people taking that 260kg+ brick into roads like that and than fighting with the bike just to get it through. It's funny because you could fly on that road even on an old KLR 600, not to mention a modern age KTM or Yamaha. But hey, if you don't have your 3 aluminium hard cases, 60kg of gear and 260kg of motorcycle than it's not an "adventure" (According to BMW marketing department at least).

R1200r owner comment. Thats the second time I have seen this type of damage and both bikes had engine bars on. I run head protectors as well as bars. It does not seem to take much to pierce the head cover, you were not travelling fast. But there looked like plenty rocks to hit. Hope your trip went OK after the repair.

Full electronic but there is no a cheap drop sensor to cut off the engine...result in many cases is the damage on rods or crankshaft bearings due to oil starvation during the bike is down and engine is on...shame for such an expensive bike and even the expensive 2017 Ducatis have no drop sensor!!!!!!!!!
