Purchase one two weeks ago.. got from the dealership for $14,500… with a major rebate. It came with the Dr.Jekill & Mr. Hyde exhaust and it came with the mini Ape hangers. If put over 1,000 miles on it … I came from The Adventure Bike work , never even riding a cruiser.. I haven’t looked back .. love this machine… I upgraded to the cross country seat and it’s a game changer….

Enjoyed the video , bought my Custom Thursday last , 250 smiles and I love it , had my first BMW in 1961 , always wanted a bike that was unique and not run of the mill, this fills the bill, yesterday was a longer ride out to get used to the bike around the mountains of North Wales here in the U.K. what a joy to ride, everything apart from the seat was just amazing , have to agree with most you say on the video , nice one , 👍 Graham

This is a great review! I decided to get my R18 just two weeks ago (to be delivered in March '23) and I didn't know this review. Having seen your video today and listen to your comments, I can't wait to go on my 1st cruise with the R18 (btw., the bobber version).

Thank you Marcel! Having owned it not for almost a year, I’m still loving the uniqueness of it. I’m considering putting beach bars on it with the bobber seat!

@@joshmorrisofficial My pleasure! I'll get it with beach bars in black. I decided to go for the bobber, because I'm 6'4" - need the extra space. I might even get the Wunderlich »ERGO-COMFORT« lower footrests. They provide add. 20mm. Can't wait.......

your test for scraping pegs is slow speed maneuvers and tight u-turns, not cruising on the highway. The bike seems really cool. I am hoping to ride one here in a couple of weeks.

It’s definitely a cruiser. Not quite as low of pegs as the heritage, but that’s ok!

My local dealer! Great guys, but sadly I’ve never bought a BMW. Been meaning to test ride an R18. Looks like they’re sold out of First Editions finally; too bad for me. Love that extra chrome touches and the classic pinstripes on black. The new Galaxy Dust Metallic is attractive, and so is the Mars Red. There appear to be some pretty big incentives right now. I may have to go look. Also, as soon as you turned left on Katella and went past 55 I knew you were headed to Santiago Canyon. One of my favorite local rides. I must say the build quality and fit/finish of the R18 is absolutely exquisite, even better than HD. Btw, the peg scraping was caused by bikes leaving the factory in the lowest rear shock preload setting and a lot of those were press bikes.

I picked one up two weeks ago and love it! I liked riding my Vulcan but I’m looking for any excuse to take this tractor out! I ordered a high boy seat from the dealer and when I got there to get it I was expecting that they were gonna be able to install it at pick up. They let me know they couldn’t do it and that I’d have to wait until next week when they install the crash bars. I wasn’t even mad because I got a ride out of it 😊

Yeah, I saw an ad for them on my KZbin feed here last night. $25990 Aussie on road. It’s apparently a saving of $7300 over retail. Called my dealer and got my deposit down. In a world of ridiculously overpriced second hand vehicles that we live in right now, I think I got a bargain.

Great. The wind shield with two auxiliary lights can NOT be bought separately, either together. It is part of the BMW R18 Classic package, to my understanding, only.

Very interesting. I was almost 100% sure you could just buy the windshield. I'll check with my parts guy at BMW!

I don't understand the lean angle discussion. Yes, the lean angle sucks if you step over from a 1250 GS or any modern sport- or nakedbike. But in direct comparison to HD the R18 is not worse. 30 degrees of lean angle left and right is more than the sportster, any old softail, better or on par with the new softails, one degree better on the left and two worse on the right than a street glide or road glide. And due to the chassis setup, you really should compare it to the softail range of HD.
