Before i got my rninet classic, i saw the r18 and have imagined to have the looks of an rninet tank with r18 engine. Man, I cant believe my eyes right. And by the way, got the rninet and so love its rawness.

I recently bought an R18 and like it a lot (on smoother roads). I don’t think this concept has much in common with it but I am very interested in seeing what BMW does with it. I could possibly make room in the garage.

That particular bike I couldn’t buy cause it would be way out of my budget but a main brand bike with that look (they short overhang seat with the custom looking seat mount would be a definite on a smaller displacement bike like an r9t’s smaller sibling. Love the stripped back look.

Hope BMW keeps the ISR 6 piston calipers. For a big bike over 500lbs ISR makes the best calipers on the market .. They also make 4 piston superbike calipers which are as good as brembos 4000$ m32/36 racing calipers and the ISR calipers cost 900$ a pair

Itll be interesting to see the end result. Id hope for a top end to the power curve and a sub 300kg wet weight. Boxers take a bit of riding to get used to but as an r18 owner and an r9t owner id be dead keen to take this for a test ride when it comes out. I dont ride my r9t a great deal as i prefer the r18, however, Im keeping my r9t as a trading chip just in case..😊

Sign me up for one of these, might sell my Rocket three or 1988 heavily modded V-Max, not both though. It will be ruined with a legal pipe, airbox and that horrible mudguard eliminator you the bit that just sticks out as if floating big enough for lights guard and number plate, but all stuff that I would change anyway as long as the UK does not get to strict with the new anti modding laws, oh I do not think the open rear drive shaft will be kept, shame i love that rear swing arm it is beautiful, I have always struggled with the V-Max and Triumph swing arms and big rear tyres Rocket three not so but the V-Max was a nightmare to get a 300 tyre on it.

I do not think because of the mirrirs or the tire shields cover the BMW Management should have the problem to put it in full production. That should NOT bean obstacle at all, with short exaust as well. This is the CONCEPT one!

I don’t totally understand why they’d use that motor and not the 1170 camhead? That R18/20 motor looks huge on that little bike. And unless it’s significantly retuned, it’s sort of a lumpy less revvy underpowered motor. The camhead is a gem.

The R9T is too small for a lot of people (as is the RS), and an R9T with a bigger engine is really no innovation at all
