BMW R90 Bobber First Ride! Is it done??

The day is finally here! Last video was the first start for the rebuilt R90 motor, and now that the last few items are complete, it's time for the first shakedown ride. Will the bike make it back to the shop without issue?
A few items are left on the docket; we make custom stainless brake hoses and bleed the brakes, fabricate some simple muffler mounts and wire in the resistor to replace the generator light. Finally, the license plate is mounted up and the bike is taken out for a quick spin to make sure everything is working as it should. Does it go perfectly or do issues arise?

Congrats mate. Beautiful build! I did it very similar to yours (R100/7) but with existing wiring. How would you wire the resistor if you had to use the old system? I put one end of the resistor wire on a D+ on one coil. And the other plugged in the existing blue wiring where you did

Thank you! The ignition coil switched 12v+ is frequently suggested as where to tie in like you've mentioned. I'm going to move my lead there to eliminate the M-Unit as a possible issue

Shouldn’t the alternator bulb cable be connected to the ground and not to a 12V source as you did?

Nope, you'll want to connect to switched 12v+ power. It's typically suggested to use the 12v+ connection for the ignition coils, so I will try moving my wire there first to eliminate the M-Unit as a potential problem.
