BMW X3 M40i | Model Focus

of all the BMW X3 M40i videos I've seen this one is the best. This guy is stable, interesting, fact filled, and the camera work really gives you a feel of this amazing vehicle. I'm waiting for mine to arrive.

Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Incredible drive no matter the circumstance. The power is so underrated it’s nearly as close to the full M s58, which is only a few tenths quicker. Love my m40i. So much so that I’ve come close to ordering the full M comp, and also considered many new BMW models, but there’s something special about it that I’m not ready to part with yet. It gets constant compliments everywhere, sounds much better than the full M, and literally does every single thing perfect. Only suggestion is putting on tires it deserves for the 21 inch staggered package. Put on tru full out p zeros and you truly unlock it’s Full potential. I pulled the garbage Bridgestone summers off and it was like unlocking a hidden level. Unreal. What a value.

Couldn't agree more! The M40i is an exceptional car! We are very intrigued to see how it compares on the road to the new X3 M Competition, that will be a very interesting one.

Me too. I thought about getting the full M car but I didn't feel the need to. I guess I will have to figure out what to do with 20k that I saved.

Here in Australia the M car costs approx $50,000AU more. There is no way that I would need to spend the difference as ive been totally happy since purchasing mine in May 2018. If I were to give a negative then I would say the gearbox in Sport Plus at low rpms id a tad jittery. It feels like it is ready to pounce which it is i guess but a little to agressive which im sure can be sorted with a software upgrade. The other thing I do not like is the stop/start. There should be a option to turn it off completely.

L Mac agree. That’s why I tuned individual to put everything juiced up with the exception of the transmission. Switching it from the stick from normal to sport is more than enough aggression. After that the ride is way too elastic at low speeds to deal with.

@@HamishCarpenter In a somewhat mad moment I decided on the M4.0 which is 355HP. It is a great car so far, just had it a month.

Chris Broadhurst Thank you. That is the one I want but I need to get the nicer larger rims but they only come with the performance tires which will. It work well in a Michigan winter.

So, bought mine used - didn't know what I was getting into. The 2021 X3 M40i (at least my US model) has 382 hp with ~360+ lbs of torque. I've only driven it in comfort mode, but I will be looking for a country road to open it up on :) Looking forward to the future, love my car *truck.

Rybrook: Can you take a look at the exhaust manifold where it attaches to the head on the 2020 X3 or X4 M40i? -Are there 6 separate exhaust ports in the manifold going to the turbo (as with the 2018 & 2019 or only 2 as with the 2020 Toyota Supra)? -The 2020 X3 and X4 M40i now has 382 HP in the US spec without the PPF and I believe is now the same "TU1" engine as the 2020 Toyota Supra. The 2020 has more HP and a significantly revised engine with a single timing chain that has far less friction and is less likely to fail, it also has a new high pressure fuel system (350 bar), forged pistons, a lighter weight crank, split cooling between the cylinder walls and the cylinder head, AND comes with the new 3rd Gen ZF 8HP51 transmissions that's shared with the Supra vs. the 8HP51 transmission in the 2019 X3 M40i.

What’s peoples driving position setup , Seat position and height including the thigh support and the position you have your steering wheel (rake and reach) I’m 6ft and just can’t to find the perfect setup yet .
