Easy way to fill diff oil stick a hose through the cap of the bottle to the bottom of the bottle, and from the neck of the bottle jam a air blower into it. It's a diy pressure fluid filler works great just don't get trigger happy with the air pressure. I have that pump you used in the video I feel the burn just watching you.

I own a BMW x5 2005 e53 4.8is 98k miles, recently converted to LPG, a new xtrons head unit and an id4motion instrument cluster, new ignition coils, new front and rear brakes and discs, front and rear diffs serviced, new rear lamps, 4 new tyres, at the moment I'm having the timing chain changed, atf all serviced too, my X5 e53 2005 4.8iS V8 is a very rare car and will only go up in value. Best car I've ever owned. You see one you buy it!!!

i have 263k on 2001 x5 3.0 and I would put the money into it. However, only if the timing chains and guides have been done on the v8. my 17 inch tires are $800 for yokahamas. Would be great to see a segment like you did on batteries, but on tires. So many brands, and generics that hard to tell what would be ok for an old bmw.

She's high on mileage but I'd fix her up. Spend $2000-$5000 to refresh the engine and get her all sorted and road worthy again is not bad in the long run and is worth it in my opinion. Can be even cheaper if the work is done by the owner. A lot better than putting a down payment and monthly payments on a new car/ certified pre-owned.

when you say "$2500 at best" you mean as is? I sold practically the same car not too long ago for $6000. Just curious on where the market is at, btw love the content I've learned a lot from this channel 👍

Most x5s are a nightmare, and require extensive maintenance and disassembly to change minor things. They’re throw aways, but to each their own.

@jeffreyhinman1397 Good to know! I thought I did a lot of research on the X5's, but thankfully I decided against an X5 and now I know why!

I think I have a bad alternator in my 2002 E53 3.0i. It makes a chirp kind of sound. You almost have to have the hood open to hear it. How would I tell if I have the 120 or 140 amp unit before I take it out?

Great video. I have a 2005 X5 4.8is, which I've been restoring slowly. I still feel that it should be smoother when accelerating. Entire suspension is new, air struts/springs, every bushing, etc. I can see that the guibos are cracking, so hopefully that will smooth it out. Were the guibos an issue on this 2004 e53?

What size rims Nathan? Are this the staggered 20” 275/40/20 and 315/35/20s or 19”s or 18”s? I know all the standard sizes and even if there are the 20” staggered like my x5 I got all 4 tires delivered to me for $600. Yes cheap tires but ones that are all season and definitely an option considering that the car is not worth much and won’t feel too bad if it blows up by summer

Hi Nathan, I'm a subscriber, I have a 2003 530i, I bought about 7 mos ago, I'm trying to locate the engine more ground strap but have no luck finding it, saw one on the bottom part part by the spark plugs side, brown wire, does the 530i have more engine strap ? There are no videos on KZbin that shows like the other models, I would highly appreciate if you can help. Thank you and more power to your channel

Hey Nathan Ive known you have made videos about using Vavoline Maxlife ATF. I just got done rebuilding the 5hp24 due to bad pressure regulator valve/A drum. Im looking into using Pentosin because I have been told pentosin is slightly thinner (Hoping thinner fluid would reduce pressure). Apparently Pentosi ATF 1, Pentosin ATF 5, Pentosin Atf 6 are rated to replace ESSO LT 71141. I am curious if you know what the differences are between the fluids. Any help/advice would be appreciated

$400 for tires? Come on man, buying used? Costco would cost at least $1k. It costs $ to own and maintain any vehicle vehicle no matter what it’s worth. You don’t discard a vehicle because not worth fixing because it needs tires. That $1k is a super deal. One month payment on a new one would be around that.

$449 for a set , we always run the ohtsu fp7000 or 8000 on the german cars , best all around tires i have found , costco or sams are expensive on tires, ebay is much better

Good luck replacing that car for even $3,500. What are you gonna do, get a cheap Honda!? Oh wait, those don’t exist any more unless it’s a total junker.
