Big difference and the new system sounds absolutely awesome. Hard to believe it is the 1.9. I have the 2.8 myself and am considering a sports exhaust. I was just curious about the 1.9 and I am impressed. I cannot wait to hear what mine is going to sound like.

I did a back box(muffler) delete on my z3, I can send you a video if you’d like, I loved the sound at first but the sound droned which I didn’t like for long trips as it started to give me a headache

100% he has other mods to the engine, no fucking way it sounds like this no matter the exhaust. u can hear the backfire also.

Lol as someone who has just this exhaust on my Z3 1.9 and no other mods.. it 100% sounds just like this. Backfire is literally just unburnt fuel igniting. Even my E38 740i has crazy backfire with a muffler delete and x-pipe.

I have a Magnaflow single muffler with the 2 1/2 inch inlet and dual 2 1/2 inch stainless steel chrome (straight-through) outlets on my Z3 2.3. Actually installed better than this one in the video, completely centered out of the exhaust body cutout . Looks like it is straight from the factory. Yea, I'm down on HP compared to the Turbo M3's but my Z3 sounds better, plus no drum-beat at cruising speeds with the top down. Oh, if you decide to switch out your old BMW muffler, remember to cut out and replace the kink in the exhaust pipe by the rear axle, unless your Z3 is lowered, not reason to have this exhaust limiting "kink".

Just compared this with my old z3 - 1997 1.9(m44b19) (sold to friend) and this deffo is not a 1.9, the boot is wrong/tail lights and it’s got the wider rear arches, anyway this exhaust sounds amazing

i have superspring on my 2.8. nothing sounds like that, at low rpm no drain no shitty noise, nice quite, at high 3k rpm and above it s like zeus thunder.
