BMW Z4 2025 // MANUAL GEARBOX CRANKS UP THE FUN FACTOR // REVIEW

Review of the 2025 BMW Z4 M40i with the handschalter pack, 6 speed manual gearbox and the beautiful colour Deep Frozen Green.
With its 340 hp and 500 Nm of torque the Z4 has always been a pretty fast car in its luxurious package. A grown up competitor to many of its rivals, a more cruising type of roadster that always had a slightly twitchy behaviour when provoking it on the limit.
Now its got fatter tyres, 19 inch wheels upfront an 20 inch on the rear, updated suspension, M-differential and that lovely manual gearbox picked from the M-division. Does these ingredients transform it enough?

@@whatcarwhattime I just put in an order/deposit with the dealer, production number not even assigned yet... they say I should get a February production (around end of 2025MY). It's not clear yet if they will offer the manual on 2026MY (ending February 2026 which will be the end of the G29), hopefully they sell enough '25 6-speeds to get their attention!

I've just got the base model , 20i, love it. Adaptive suspension is perfect for our appauling roads in UK. IMO the 20i is fast enough, it's far from slow, but if you can afford a 40i well why not .

@@grahamatsea3575 Yes, the 20i I'm sure is fun enough and fast enough for most, and lighter engine at the front is always great making it a little more agile when turn in. The 40i is fast but I would like one even more powerful engine in this one. Because this has some poise to it that I like. So it would be even more of a thrill if it could get the M2's power. 😎 Thanks for watching 🙏

Fun! Sure, more and more plastics under the hood. Oil leaks and coolant leaks. And, high repair and maintenance costs. I'm German/American and owned several BMWs, built in my German hometown.
