For me the problem with the design is the increased height of the car. Previous models were looking much more low profile giving a more elegant and sinister look. Possibly this version was designed for the electric version in mind first and then petrol & hybrid versions were derived. They tried to slim down the profile by adding black strips at the bottom but still not working for me.

They managed to do the impossible: ruin the 5 series. Such a disjointed and lazy interior design and inelegant exterior design either with heaps of black plastic or silvery nonsense and disproportionate kidneys that grow onto the hood. The G30 was one of the last good looking cars. I don't ever see myself buying a G60. I'll have to get an A6.

Wow r u bhind the times! That was inspired by BMW's F1 program, ALSO history. So that M5 & M6 were single generation & ditto for the V8 M3 it created. BMW have already announced they are halving ICE production for 25 neu EV, why next M5 is XM V8 hybrid, like i5 part of the transition. Design chief Dukec stated BMW have 40 million followers on social media, this explains the online bashing of the co., opinions only, if only had had some KNOWLEDGE about century+ old German engineering firm before they trolled it.

As a designer, I am very disappointed with the new design of the new 5 Series. The front of the car looks good, but the profile of the car reminds me of a cheap Chinese car and the rear lighting looks very cheap and shapeless.

Surprised that not enough people are commenting on the grille - merging the twin kidney grille into a large one's okay but the location of the sensor array is nothing but unfortunate in my book, especially the M grille. It's like spelling one's own name wrong. Doesn't help when you have a front-heavy design with simplified side profile and rear design.

The thing is this feels like it was designed primarily for the electric version first, and the petrol/diesel variants were scaled down from the electric version, which explains why this car feels so weird. Merc doing it better in terms of executive. step your game up beemer.

I have driven a total of 3 BMWs and currently the G30 bought last year and I always prefer the BMW over the Merc because of its fiery sporty design. But for this time the E Class and 5 Series to me are in a stalemate for the exterior design language. I think BMW wants the 5 series to be more like Mercedes this time, mature looking car.

at first i didnt like the rear tail light design but they look dashing in person other than that this new model is way better in design both interior and exterior compared to previous model, it looks ummm hott, it grows on you with time, here are majority people who even saw the car in person or buy it and just speaking shtt of its design
