Great movie, good explanation and well said that is fun and gives you a good mood! I would add also that posesing such skill can be helpful when something nasty happens on the road and your car starts to slide and you are like "no panic, just like the last time on parking near tesco" :) and you do not have to be a Drift King and do not need a fully modified Nissan 200SX in order to have some fun :) so drift as much as you can in safe conditions because drifting is all good :)

@@BMWM Unfortunately yes, some time ago when is was overtaking couple of cars on public road one of them decided to start overtaking as well, and hit the the right rear of my car and caused a serious skid. Luckily, I managed to make couple of countersteers together with pushing gas (FWD that time) and avoided going off the road. I had a lot of luck, but I think that playing with handbrake during winters was helpful as well :)

Drifting on normal roads require a lot more torque, puts a lot more wear on ur tyres and u need to control ur steering a lot more harder. Cause doing it on a smooth surface AND having water under ur tyres reduces the friction by atleast half of what it would be on normal roads

Frankly, this is still insanely useful information outside of having fun/illegal activities. Being able to control your car in a slide is CRUCIAL for every driver. All the driving assist systems _can_ fail at any point or outright not be enough, being able to control your car will quite literally save your and everyone else's life

Serious guys. Drifting a rear wheel driven car on the wet.... peanuts. I do the same with a simple 320 d touring; It is of course not so stable as the M version. And don't try the same on dry tarmac, by lack of power, it will smack from left to right like a whale tail.

Wet closed course is the best (and legal) way to explain drifting basics, that‘s what this video is about. Initiating a drift, holding it, and stopping it. Of course you‘ll need more power and more precision on dry roads

I personally drift a 140 bhp 318i E46, not really a supercar but very well balanced. If done on a low grip surface (wet tarmac is enough) it's completely possible and rather easy; what you need to put a little more effort and time into at the beginning is finding just how much close to the grip limit you need to be before stomping on the gas, and how to use the throttle (you might want to use some rear to front weight transfer just before the drift). The lesser the power the trickier it becomes, but it is also much better in training your grip and balance perception skills. Breaking the rear grip loose on a 4-500 bhp M beast... not that much of a skills sharpener ;)
