Hey Brant! I’m running folding Bsd Donnastreet 2.3 front back on 80 psi and mostly street riding. Thinking of lowering to 60 psi to get softer feel on bunny hops and also to lessen impact on my wrists...😅

Excellent video!! I'm totally new to folding tires, but nevertheless bought a pair to replace my 16 year old tires. You've gone through a very detailed explanation comparing folding vs wire bead tires. I've bought 700 x 35C tires primarily for urban street use. I've yet to install them. Looking forward to riding with the new tires ( & new inner tubes).

I have used Fit T/A, Animal X T-one, Eclat fireballs, Flybike Rampera and Merritt. I have blown most of the Fit T/A on the sidewalls but I still like them, the Fireballs are grippy and last long when running brakeless.. On my next purchase I would like to try Subrosa's and BSD's.

Sprained my wrist pretty bad almost a week ago trying a hop spin? Not a regular bar spin but just lifting my front end up and bar spinning. Needless to say I fell backwards on my ass and took most the weight on my hand. I was able to ride a bit today. Can't hop but was able to practice some manuals. Weather is perfect for riding right now so I'm kinda sad that I'm not 100%. Be safe!

I run the Stranger Crux 2.40 tires they have a max of 110 psi but I usually ride them around 40-50-55 psi...They seem kinda heavy sometimes when I bunny hop or in 180s but they actually have held up for 7 months of use and are still going!!!(I will change them in a week or too with some (DSI SRI-30 20x2.30)which actually look like 2.40 2.50 tires when you seem them in person)

Nice video Brant there is quite some useful information in this. Also I like to run the BSD Donnastreet tries in 2.4s front and rear at 40 to 45 psi for when I'm riding heavy street but pump them up to 50 or 60 psi if I'm just cruising around looking spots.
@Brant_Moore4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’m curious what difference you notice on things going from 50-60 to 40-45 for heavy street? I never let air out of my tires so I have no experience there and am curious if it could help
@stratko4 жыл бұрын
@@Brant_Moore Thanks for the reply yes it can help if you don't have a car or can't get a ride to the spot or skatepark. 50-60 makes getting around town easier and makes your bike feel less sluggish on the road so you get less tired and save energy. If you use your BMX for long distance transportation like I do. Then for heavy street I drop to 40-45 just to help with the wrists for big drops and gaps. Also personal preference I feel like the lower PSI helps with my control on a brakeless setup.
@shakedinbar21624 жыл бұрын
brant thanks alot ! do you think it is smart to set up a wire bead tyre on rear and kevlar on front, also having biger size on front just to save some rotational weight on front but still have a decent support for street bangers with a wire beaded tyre on the back since it takes the first impact ? i feel like its a good idea but the only problem is the front takes lateral impacts and kevlar is weaker, so is the idea worth it?
