In my village, the character Pushpa is more famous than the movie itself. From children to the elderly, everyone knows about Pushpa and mimics his style. It doesn’t matter what happens in the story when they see Pushpa on screen, they cheer and celebrate. Movies like DDLJ, KKKGH, Gajni, 3 Idiots, Bahubali, KGF, Stree 2, Animal, etc are example of becoming such a hit that it starts to influence the industry. Now even Pushpa is in this list which is bad for the film industry. The reason why Pushpa trend is bad is because Pushpa only worked because of Allu Arjun, nothing else. Badal, I don't think pushpa is loved by only single screen audience. Yes, the majority chunk of the money this movie earned came from there, but multiplex going audience (mostly middle class families to upper class families) are loving this film too. Collections of the movie are coming from multiplex as well. I watched pushpa 2 twice and there were family audiences in multiplex both times. Its not the mass masala thing i feel, its the family emotions and grounded cultural rooted touch which bollywood is lacking especially in last decade. Bahubali, RRR, Kantara, Pushpa 2 which are enjoyed by families are not just emotionally rooted but culturally rooted as well.

While i would agree with you badal bhai, but the statement that "it kind of caters to single screen and people with no mind" then i would say, i have watched the movie 2 times, both times in PVR, once is after 5 days of release and another after 10 days, both the shows were full that too morning shows. I liked the movie because, it really provides an adrenaline rush at many times which i felt in animal also. Sometimes more than story the mass pulse which we get in theatre is much more entertaining
