I feel like Midoriya would genuinely be bad at chess not because he’s bad at planning but because his way of planning usually ends up with sacrifices being made under the assumption that those sacrifices should pull it off. Like him sacrificing a pawn just looks like him throwing himself at Shigiraki alone so when he does it he expects like some hard earned victory or something and it’s like “no, your pawn just gets smacked off the board by the queen”😂. Like he bets on the individual being stronger than they perceive themselves to be cause he always sees the best in ppl so he can’t plan around inanimate objects that don’t strive for victory😂

I swear, every single time, Jiro has something to say that just makes me laugh so hard- Also I actually play Pokémon TCG, it's pretty good. Basically you have the active Pokémon card and the bench, you put energy cards on your Pokémon cards so that your active Pokémon can attack. There's a bunch of other stuff like item and stadium cards, but that's too complicated to explain.

As a 3rd gen Yu-Gi-Oh duelist (started in 5DS but I still watched MRD and GX) I can confirm Iida and Deku was referring to Exodia the forbidden one it's an automatic win effect get all 5 pieces in your hand and you win It's one of several in the game others include: Final countdown Destiny board Number 88 gimmick puppet of Leo The Creator the god of light Victory dragon Exodia though is the pinnacle of scumbagary as many people don't use it the way you should Whilst you can only have 1 complete set of exodia in a single deck many choose to build decks specifically designed simply to draw all 5 cards needed to win Exodia should be a last resort only anyone who uses it otherwise is a scumbag and too afraid to duel properly I have exodia in a deck I call blast chain which when completed its main combo can deal my opponent 4400 points of damage without ever attacking and all I need to do to trigger the chain of damage is draw a card at the start of my turn Whilst this deck has a number of draw based spell cards in it often leading to me being asked if it's an Exodia deck 99% of the time I don't get more then 2 pieces of exodia by the end of the duel even if I use multiple draw cards The one time I ever assembled exodia wasn't even intentionally as I got 1 piece in my hand at the start of the duel Got a second when playing pot of greed (draw 2 cards) And then somehow my next 3 draws was the last 3 pieces 😂

I'm not going to lie, I have over 1,000+ Pokemon cards that I don't touch because I don't know how to play the actual game. I do have 1,000+ Magic the Gathering cards that I LOVE playing with. I even run a red/green Commander deck that is pretty good. It's not top tier good but for what I had on hand to make it I'm not too mad with how it turned out.

The reason cards like Pot of Greed are so powerful for such small effects is because you get more cards to use without repercussions. Example: If I have 2 Blue Eyes in my hand (Yeah, Seto Kaiba) and a Pot of Greed. I activate my Pot of Greed and possibly draw cards that'll allow me to bring out one or both of the Blue Eyes. Lord of Dragons and Flute of Summoning Dragon? Bam. Two Ancient Rules? Bam. Polymerization and De-Fusion? Bam! BAM! So much can happen with just one or two extra cards. Now, I don't play Magic, but let's say you have that one card that forces either you or your opponent to draw three. You look at your hand, you see that with one more card, you can completely wipe out your opponents field, but you also see that your opponent's deck is low and they're being defensive. Now I don't know if Magic has a deck out rule but for this let's say it does. On one side, you have the possibility to end the match there, but then on the other, you could lock it into a stalemate by forcing your opponent to draw. But then either way, you have to worry about the cards being drawn. If your opponent was waiting for a certain card, you just helped them get closer to it if not draw it. But then there's the possibility that if you draw, you could very well not draw anything that can help you in that moment. It's a double-edged sword in either circumstance.
