Shouto has NO obligation to ever forgive his dad. I personaly like where Hoshikori is taking their(=the Todoroki family's) story. I like Enji/Endeavor as a character, however I don't agree with what he has done. But I have a hard time understanding how Shouto forgave his mum so easily? She threw boiling water on his face and it permanently scarred him. From what we've seen she didn't abuse him or hurt him other than that one time. So is that it?

Well, yeah, kind of. She defended Shoto against Enji/Endeavor, and Endeavor physically/mentally abused her as well. That one time she burned him was a result of her snapping and not being able to take all that abuse anymore. Hope this helps!

@@nerd2507 Thanks, it does. I know she was abused (or at least hit once with the implication of it having happened before/after) and I get that anyone would snap at some point. I guess I just don't understand why she would take it out on Shouto. I would have assumed that abuse from his father would've affected the way Shouto might've viewed his mother throwing the water on him. As in maybe starting to worry that his mum was changing too. Starting to be careful around her too (maybe that's just me) but instead he seems to take her side without any doubs. Blaming his father for the mum throwing the water. It's Endeavor's fault for her snapping but I don't think it's his fault that the mum threw the waster on SHOUTO. Maybe I'm just thinking about this too hard, it's just fictional characters after all ^_^'

I disagree. Her throwing the water is a direct result of her snapping. "Rei was kind, caring and loving towards Shoto and in return, he loved her deeply. She would always support Shoto such as trying to stop her husband's mad training methods and encouraging her son to become the man he wants to be, indicating her selflessness. However, the constant abuse that she received from her husband caused her to become mentally unstable, to the point that one day she snapped upon seeing Shoto's left side, which reminded her of Endeavor. This caused her to throw a kettle of boiling water she had near her over her son's face, burning him. She did not, however, do this out of hatred for Shoto, but rather due to her mental instability. After staying at a psychiatric ward and away from her husband, Rei has shown to have returned to her past kind, caring self." "However, Rei started to lose her sanity due to all the abuse received from her husband, finding it painful to look at Shoto because his left side reminded her of Endeavor. For example I didn't realize that she had become mentally unstable, I thought that the snapping was just.. anger and resentment she'd held towards Endeavor and he punished her by sending her to a psychiatric ward or something. This helped a lot, thanks! Also for the trouble of looking up sources :) Tho I still kinda wanna call bs on Shouto's left side reminding her so badly of Endeavor that it affected, what about Toya? In my head I explained the throwing water on Shouto as she got scared by Shouto and the fact that he heard what she'd said.
