Well done Mr Nyati. Respectful Leader!

Chairman Mteto Nyati , what an honor to listen to a patron of your caliber. That we've men and women of your ability, skill and leadership amongst us yet imposed upon us are mostly those who wouldn't lead a group of ten believers in silent prayer boils my blood with rage. One couldn't be more proud to be a South African, yours is a calling . May you Sir, your leadership team and your plans be richly blessed.

It is encouraging to hear someone with a good understanding of management talking. After working as a Construction Manager at Eskom I found that poor experience at Contract Management level within Eskom is atrocious. When NEC3 is applied it's shared risk, not an opportunity for young technical Engineers and Project managers to persecute contractors. The poor understanding of when to apply standards of excellence vs pragmatic standards is lacking and this only comes by using experienced personnel, not politically inspired or race based appointments.

The fact that he tried really hard to talk positively about Andre, notwithstanding Andre's dismal performance, was a touch of class

I am ashamed to say that I was one of the nay sayers, and believed that this feat would not have been achieved.
@olwethungolotyi459Ай бұрын
He has really done well, of course it was natural of people to not believe that things would change mainly due to the track record of the previous executive. Job well done to him and his team.

Thank you for this conversation. Greetings from an exiled Zimbabwean with strong care and interest in the use of renewables.

Good ob ESKOM. If lessons are not taught then how do we expect people to change through accountability. The people have been allowed to behave badly because no one has been managing the coffers and doing the follow up and driving the SOP's and reading the reports and acting on them. You cannot blame a child for test driving anything its the parent that has nit provided the tools and kept watch that is responsible in this case management at all levels.

At the end of the day, people had so much to say about de Ruiter, but things have improved immensely since giving positive attention to addressing what he had discovered and brought attention. to.

Just imagine if all the Government and SOE had quality leadership like Nyati …….. South Africa would be a giant in Africa and the world. Meritocracy before ideology …. it’s time the communists and socialists exit stage left permanently.
@rashidlanie5059Ай бұрын
I agree. And for the record, South Africa is enjoying the Giant of Africa status with all the mayhem and chaos in certain sectors of our economy and society. SA is currently rated as the number one economy followed by Egypt, Algeria and then Nigeria. That said, we can only imagine how much further we can journey on the international stage when so many disparate elements come together in team building, meritorious engagement and focused leadership.

Great interview. I enjoy your show, a lot, and listen to most of the episodes as podcasts. However, please add chapters to your youtube videos, which will assist with scrolling. (Also, what reading can one to to better understand Frans Cronje's references to hard and soft power?)

Still watching but 4 mins in... Eskom should supply directly. None of this "Pay the Municipality" nonsense!

And it should be cheaper if we pay eskom directly.
